Who's using Jamup?

Yup....I'm a fan. For what you pay, it punches way above it's weight class. I have about a million music apps now and recording is easier than ever....for $150 or so (not including iPad) you get a stellar modeling rig that nothing in it's price range can touch.

$150? I spent like 40 bucks total for my interface and app.

I got the Apogee Jam that was like $100, plus JamUp Pro and Bias, and a couple other apps that is use for recording. Around $150 total.

It is pretty sweet unless your ADHD and then you just get lost for hours tweaking. BIAS is a must have add on. For the price it's like a sore penis! You can't beat it. I got the Positive Grid interface and it's ok but everyone I talk to says getting a better interface like the apogee jam or Line 6 makes a big difference.

Ah, I bought some generic interface from Guitar Center, and the JamUp app with one or two expansions. I haven't bought BIAS and all that since it's iPad only. I want PG to make an affordable DAW app because their models are better IMO than Amplitube/Waves and so forth.

BIAS is coming out for iPhone; should be sometime in the next week or so IIRC.

I use JamUp Pro and BIAS with either a Sonicport or Duo Capture EX. Honestly, it's not a Kemper or Axe, BUT it is (IMHO) much better than Line 6's HD modeling, to the point where my HD500 is gone. Sure, the IO isn't as good, but for what I used the HD500 for, BIAS easily replaced it.

Love it. Perfect for me considering my daughters room is right next to my man cave. So I can play whenever I feel like it. And since I don't have an Axe-FX/ Kemper sized investment in it, I don't nitpick the tone trying to justify the cost.

Using it in conjunction with Bias has been really cool as well. I'm usually an endless tweaker with as many options as there are in products like this. But for some reason, with Bias, I got a sound I like and I basically stuck with what I came up with.

I love it. Need to get a better interface but was well worth the purchase.

I use Apogee Jam. I ve tried Irig and jamup pro. Jam wins.

I thought the same but the truth is jam is great and apogee one wins. The headphone out is not as good as a dedicated d/a converter, the one has out conversion also.

Molten's reply to a thread I made has me really thinking about getting this setup.
I have a few questions if anyone could help.

BIAS is I pad2 only according to PG's website am I reading that right?

I see talk about apogee being better than Jam up. Is apogee the same type of thing?

I also see interface talk. When you say interface, is it in the sense of a convertor to allow to play guitar through iPad or can I use my tc impact twin?

Overall what do I need for recording use and live use?

BIAS is coming to iPhone sometime this week.

JamUp and BIAS are apps on iPhone or iPad. Made by the same company, JamUp is all inclusive; amps, ODs, delays, etc...BIAS is an app that lets you design your won 'amps' based on existing designs; there's Diezels and 6505s and Matchless and 5153s and a bunch of Marshalls and pretty much everything else. You can swap OTs and tubes and power tubes and whatnot, and then drop those amps you make into JamUp and use them in that app.

Apogee Jam is the interface that a lot of us use; guitar>Apogee>iPad/iPhone>JamUp. It works well and does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it's around $100 new and $60 or so used. There are other interfaces, but they lack. The Line6 SonicPort is another good one, and there are a bunch more if you wanna go higher end, up to an Apogee desktop version that runs around $1200. You aren't going to be able to use your TC.

There is an app called Audiobus that acts like virtual cables in your iPad and lets you chain other music apps to JamUp and use them as well, and then you can run JamUp/effects apps/GarageBand to record.

GarageBand for iPad lets you upload finished stuff or demos to Soundcloud from your iPad, or save them and transfer to a bigger DAW to do other things.

For live use, you'd need a guitar, interface, the apps, and some kind of power amp and cab; you can disable the cab in BIAS and run it thru a regular head and cab as well.

Any other questions feel free to PM. I've been using it for awhile and dig it a lot as a low cost all in one recording solution.

i use it for practice and whatnot. Just got an apogee one i'd use it in conjunction with over the apogee jam, cause sometimes one needs a mic for whatever reasons.

very decent, affordable way of playing and practicing if travelling or don't have the space or funds for a real rig IMO.
