Didn't know it was harder than ebony. Didn't know I can get it dyed in any color. Now when my signature series ESP is released I can offer it in black, white, and purple.
The problem with getting a dyed color is cost vs volume; not sure how Gibson/Epiphone got the white fretboards as they're not a standard color offered by Richlite:

it's a couple years old, it's X series, nothing fancy...
...with cheap Jackson brand pickups and FR special... can still get them new, even cheaper since the price drop... I planned to upgrade the pickups and FR, but it works...never got around to it; plus it's neck through:
