I'm not sure "what was never in dispute" but it seems like you're saying that everyone knew all along the vax would cause some deaths. The vaccine itself made a significant difference. It reduced the incidence of severe disease and hospitalisation. I'm glad I had it and I'm glad Australia took a bipartisan approach to it rather than being a dickhead like Trump who carried on about horse and malaria medications and all sorts of bullshit, got sick, had to be rushed to hospital and given a treatment that not much of the general populace could get access too - ie monoclonal antibodies. Should have let him take his own advice and left him to suffocate.
