Why does my PT-20 pickup radio stations?

When I’m plugged in and not playing I can hear radio interference coming from the speaker cab. I guess its cool it picks up the local rock station and not some random spanish station but its annoying. Is it because its a handwired amp? None of my other amps do this.

Any pedals? Sounds like dirty power to me. If you have pedals, make sure they are on an isolated power supply like the friedman or a voodoo lab. Also, some sort of iso power source surge protector like an isobar or monster or Furman or whatever that filters to plug your amp into before the wall.

I have a Gator G-Bus-8 and a standard surge protector strip. I don't get why my other amps don't do this on the same setup?

Does it do it without anything plugged into the input and loop? All the Friedmans I've seen had shielding on the headshell under the chassis, but you may want to take a look to make sure this one does.

Good call, its the loop! Any ideas on fixing it? All I'm using is a mini HOF reverb.

try this take a cable and run it fro the send to the return of the amp. Do you get radio then? have you tried a different pedal in the loop?

Whats your whole setup and how is it powered?

The gator power supply is not isolated, I don't think. If you have some pedals upfront and some in the loop this can cause all sorts of issues.

Thanks Dave. Tried what you said above with the cable and I still hear it. I ended up unplugging everything and tried one pedal a time going into the front, still hearing it. If I go straight into the amp with HOF reverb in the loop its quiet, so its something to do with my pedals up front. At this point I think its my A/B box and/or the Gator Power? It's just strange I only experience this with the PT and not my other amps.

This is my current setup, though the uberschall, VH4 and wah are not plugged in.
