Did someone famous recently start using these Intellifex Online units?

I remember finding them for sale for like 80 dollars. Supposedly these are the worst sounding units out of the Intellifex series.

Just curious if there is a reason why this one is being bid up so crazy high?

That bid history looks weird, and yeah, you can still find these for 100-150 all day long.

I have an online version and I A/Bd it against an earlier blackface, didn't hear any difference at all. Returned the earlier version to GC. The online version with midi mate ran me 125. I can use the midi mate with just about any midi unit.
I'm sure the later Intellifex, since they were made overseas won't have the same build quality as the outsourced versions but to my ears they both sounded identical.

That bidding price is steep...GC had an early one last week for 225.

Yeah, that they sound so different is probably mostly a forum thing. There are some differences in delay memory and such, though.

Sure. It's like the Mesa Mark III Red stripe sounds like a C+ fallacy...they don't. And most believe the Red sounds the best. I had a Purple stripe that killed the Red I had at the same time. Neither sounded like a C+.

They sound exactly the same. I've had the first blackface version and I still have the XL version. XL has 2 seconds and the older has 1.6 seconds of delay. The older one you can edit in .1 step, the XL you can edit in .5 step per parameter. There might be a slight difference between the two, because of this, cause if the older one has 598 ms of delay in a preset, you cannot dial the exact same parameter in XL, you must dial 595 or 600 ms. The older one has a better dialing resolution

Wow, its up to 365 now with a third bidder jumping in!

Anyways I am looking for an online unit with the red face, maybe I should say the red and black face. I'm doing a Stephen Carpenter White Pony type rig for my home studio and need this unit. I am not paying 365 dollars either.

I have an original blackface that I bought new and also an LTD. The LTD is definitely noisier than the blackface.
