Tried a Epi LP Jr Inspired by Gibson in a music store and it weighed less than my strat. It was also mad comfortable to play and sounded amazing.

Just wondering how it can be so light if it's not chambered and it's full in thickness and also mahogany?

(Good) Mahogany isn’t very heavy. It shouldn’t be as thick as an LP, about 1/4” thicker than an SG.

You figure most Les Paul guitars have a maple top and are not flat, so that adds weight as well

I always thought that the maple cap isn't so thick that it would add like 2-3lbs more weight into guitar.
