Why this forum no like Charvels? They don't sell is my point

I was just trying to say in the original statement, that based on what I see sell, that mine and several others haven't sold. That's just what I've seen so far. I've got a custom shop 2007 model that is down to $850 and still won't sell. That's partially why I came up with the question.

Right... and I just gave you a pretty good explanation of why it hasn't sold... not much is selling period and your Charvel is not as desirable for the reasons I gave...

pointy + ghost flamey paint + Charvel = not so happenin'...

Strathead + HRF + Charvel = sold in a matter of hours or days...

The pointy thing has jumped the shark now that you can get a Strathead.

OK guys, I get it! :gethim: Don't kick a dog while he's down.  Here's my collection of my Charvels, and it's only gonna get bigger...with the exception that same may end up saying Jackson on them too!
Eric, whats with the dirty shoes on your dining room table?

It's a nice looking guitar. But at $850 is it really worth it to sell? I mean if you really needed the money, but how far will $850 get you these days. Better to tuck it away in it's case till the market turns around. I have a bunch of amps, guitars and stuff to sell but am just sitting on it right now. Stuff doesn't move and it's not worth taking the loss in this market. Just my 2c.

Aloha, Rob.

Give me an 83' original San Dimas ANY DAY!

But the new ones play good...

I have a 1980 and a 1984 so I can say after playing them back to back, the new ones are freaking great. Ask Ralph too, he has an '83 and he might like his '09 So Cal even better.

I played Ralphie's 83, very cool guitar dripping with mojo but I can also see why he has his 09 ;)

Stepping in a speaking outa turn...
Ralphs 83 an the 09 are different animals. 1, he wont take that bad boy out live, natch, and 2, they drove a tractor/trailer thru it when he had the Floyd put in AFTER the Kahler, and even though he says the shop he took it too warned him, as a tech who's done dumb stuff on customer requests, I'dve told him NO WAY as opposed to the ammt. of precious wood they carved outa that thing.. DIX.... Besides, how stupid would it be after that to then carve into a solid top piece for a neck pup and take the chance screwing the tone on that ANIMAL...
the 09's are there to be played, taken out Live and abused, rightly so... 'specially for that price...

I'd happily take my new Custom Shops out to gig (if I were giggin'), just like I did with the originals in the '80s. I'd do the same with my most expensive Suhr... To hell with collecting - these muthers were meant to play...

Gotta say it again, these are the two baddest toys in my arsenal right now, depending on my mood, but once I install the suhr singles in the middle an put up a 5 way, I think that's gonna do it for me...

Steve, I totally agree, If I had a nickel for everytime I've said 'tools in the toolbox' re: guitars are meant to be collected for diversity in sounds and PLAYED, not fkn Stared at and weighed and primped and preened over... Cork-sniffers need not apply.....  I'm just happy w/ all the $ I've pissed away and cant Afford (LIKE SOME OF YOU.... ) That I have two new toys to smack the hell out of and not feel I'm burning thru any value in resale by accidently PLAYING the thing... Take my Goldleaf Wayne for instance....   And let me thank you Personally AGAIN for putting me straight on that...

Steve, do you have any oil/clear coat on the birdseye neck of that baby blue CS? I'd be a little worried about her twisting over time... Then again, you'd just BURN it and buy two more...

Sure, I understand what you're saying. I have given up worrying about resale value though - the truth is (unless we are talking about something super rare), you take it in the ass regardless of a few dents... at least in this economy...

I really like that baby blue one. I personally would prefer a Fender style tremolo like that on mine. No Floyd. No locking nut.
