You can get the Zero Loss FX loop from Metroamp for $90 and install it yourself. Hardest part will be drilling the holes in the chassis. Other than that, looks like another Metroamp kit...

Im talking about his mods in general. Not really concerned with the loop.

i liked the clips of the 80's mod when he posted them on the marshall forum. I liked what I heard, esp the Ratt riffs. Just my $.02.

I see him post in the Marshall forum and seems to be a knowledgeable guy and knows his stuff.
I heard some good clips of his mods and amps. I need to pay his shop a visit. He is only a town
away from me.

He is a douchebag who ripped me off. When I was on the metro forum we became friends and he told me that he would send me a spinal tap faceplate for my Metro kit where all the knobs went to 11 lol. Being grateful for his generosity I sent him my crispy cream treble booster pedal for him to check out because I told him how much I loved it and he wanted to check it out. Needless to say after months of him having the pedal and and after months never receiving the faceplate, I started asking him to send me the pedal back and after many....It's going out today replies and never getting the pedal or faceplate I chalked him up to being the douche that he is. A lot of guys feel the same way about him. He is a flake at best and if you want to shell out your money to him, you have be warned ;)

Thanks for the warning. If anyone goes by his shop or hears his mods please let me know how they are.

Yeah, John Wilder is a Grade a douche in my eyes. I gave him every chance to do the right thing and he just blew me off!
With that said, i didn't mean for my post to come off as harsh but I did want you guys to know that the guy is a flake. His amps are nothing more then a metro kit that he builds and add stuff to. There are others who have more to say about him but I won't go into detail and speak for them!!

Hope all is well!

try a greenly punch. a little pricey but easy to use. they run about 40 bucks. but it makes clean holes in the chasis that look like they were born there.

Love your honesty Ralph.

I currently have a Marshall being modded by Wilder. I have a friend that has went by his shop and played a couple of his amps and says they are killer!!! And he has an amp just finished by Jon Wilder and it sounds killer!
I have talked to Jon a few times on the phone and many e-mails.

I think Jon is a stand up guy and have no worries about dealing with him or his work. He always returns phone calls and e-mails right away, or atleast within a day.

I will post some thoughts on my modded Marshall when I actually get it back and play it for myself.

I do agree with his website clips sounded great. My buddy that has actually played one of his modded marshall's at his shop, says the clip don't sound half as good as the amp does in person.

I'm excited and think I will have the ultimate 2 channel Marshall when I get it back.

Yeah I heard folks on the Metroamp site talking about it. I might have to pick that up when I build my custom Metroamp... :)

Chassis punches are well worth having, although i wouldn't bother using them when drilling the holes for a Metro Zero Loss FX Loop. But they're extremely useful when adding extra tubes, sockets or other large holes where using extra large drill bits is impractical :) My chassis punches get a lot of use with the mods i do!

What mod are you getting done? I have the 80's tone pretty much nailed between my Fortin Cali and my Cameron CCV. Im looking to go a different direction and wonder if he could do it.

I'm having my JCM800 2210 modded with his "to become" standard 2210 mod.

The best thing to do is to call him, his number is on his website that I assume you have checked out. He's really cool to talk to about guitar tones and certain guitarist & bands.

my 2210 will have a clean channel that will be like a 69 plexi , can be clean or dirty, will have its own gain and channel vol. The gain/ boost channel also has its own gain and vol. and can get really heavy sounding, or nail the 80's rock tones and early VH. both channels will share the same eq , he is also upgrading my fx loop with the zero loss kit.
Should be killer
And he is also adding a resonance and contour control. The 2210 is a great one to mod because it already has all the holes necessary for his 2 channel amp design. he actually builds a whole new circuit board and replaces the stock one. So basically you get a brand new preamp inside the amp, all new parts.

I have 2) 2210's .. my Fave Marshall's .... decided to mod one. My biggest complaint on the stock 2210's is the fx loop and the semi clean channel , I wish it could actually get a cleaner sound , so this should work out great for me. And also the gain/ boost channel will not need a tubescreamer in front anymore , although I will still probably use it to ad versatility to both channels.

Wilder may pretty much just nail the 80's sound and slightly heavier, Feel free to call him with any questions. He prefers phone calls over e-mails if you have a lot of questions.
I've seen some pictures of his work and it is top notch!

Ralphie your killing me! I'm in talks to send him an amp... but I know you, and respect your opinion..:.

Sorry About that! I really hate talking bad about someone unless I feel that they truly deserve it and he most definitely deserves it in my humble opinion.
I sent my pedal out to him the day that he said that my Plexi Panels would be in the mail. He called me up to let me know that he had the pedal and then after a few days of me not receiving the panels he gave me the oh yeah... I didn't get around to sending it yet. I was like WTF?
That turned into months of waiting until I had enough of waiting and then kindly asked him to send me the pedal back....Which then turned into I'll send the panels back with the pedal..which then turned into months of I'm sending it out today.... and the outcome was me out the pedal and the panels..which lead to him not even calling me anymore lol.
