Let me know how this pans out Ralph. I was considering having my DSL modded by Wilder Amps as they are close, but now i'm not so sure...

You'll have to call Sal because I hear Guido swims with the fishes.

You can mod it? You've got attention Jerry...
Let's see, you make bitchin amps, and I cam drive to you....
Win, win! Shall I call you sir?

What about v1?

left you a message. just pulled up the schem its been a while

OK this would be major surgery. prob why no one wants it. I see op amps, blah they use a switching system no doubt for clean and crunch. Let me see if I can look in one local before you drive down. me and my big mouth. Probably more in labor time to be worth it for you, which is why no one wants it . Sell the dog and start fresh.

I can do the Savage Air Mod® on your amp. It's a free mod, you just pay shipping.

What the heck is the Savage Air Mod

There's a lot to it but basically, you ship me the amp, I fire it up, make sure it sounds good, then I ship back the box with the air that came in it. I keep the packing materials just in case I need them.

I don't suppose you would be interested in my "Dual lead error mod" ?
A little different than the Savage "Air" mod

Seriously though and sticking to the topic: My Wilder modded 2210 is in transit and I should have it back for the weekend. Pretty darn quick turn around for a one guy show. He's running 2 to 3 weeks at the present time. He played me a few rhythms over the phone with my amp and it sounded great over the phone even. Usually guitars / music sounds kinda crappy over the phone.

And also to correct one of my earlier post , i said something about his standard 2210 mod ,
well its actually his standard 2 channel JCM800 mod which he can do on any JCM800 model, the 2210 just happens to have the perfect layout for 2 channels, the 2203 would end up with some controls on the back. He can always just mod the single channel amps too.
Just give him a call, all his contact info is on his website and he is willing to mod just about any kind of amp.

Make sure its a Schematic for an SLX 4500. The're one channel, all tube pre, ss loop...no Diodes. Op amps in the master volumes, no switching....

ASk for Bob's meat smell option if you have the funds and want to go for broke.

The SLX is a 2100 (100 watt) or a 2500 (50 watt). The 4500 is the 50 watt Dual Reverb JCM900.
Jerry

You are correct Jerry! 2500...
No dis implied re your liking the amp... seems no-one does! ;)

Cept folks that have it as there second......

Sellers flaking anyway....

Off to the classifieds!

It's not a bad amp, it's just not what most folks are looking for in a Marshall. Most want a modded 2203 or plexi and the SLX just doesn't have that. They can be cool if you like the tone somewhat to begin with.
