I have a RJM MMGT16 that will be controlling a Triaxis, RJM Rack Gizmo, Axe-fx and 1 other multieffect unit.

What is the best way to connect midi cables.

Should I take a 7pin midi cable from MMTG and plug it into Rack GIZMO and then 5 pin midi cable out of Rack gizmo to in Triaxis -> Axe FX -> Multieffect.

Or

7pin Midi cable from MMGT into RJM phamtom power adapter then 5 pin midi cable to Midi solutions quadra thru then separate midi cables going to each unit.

Thanks

Dan

The 5 pins are without power, the 7 pins have phantom power if the output is capable of driving it. Be aware that you're dealing with phantom power and non phantom power at the same time when mixing 7 pin and 5 pin cables.

Otherwise, the order in which you connect them won't matter. Use the In and Thru connectors so that midi commands can be echoed accordingly to all devices within the rack.

With that said, my suggestion would be GT16 -> Gizmo -> Triaxis -> AFX -> Multi
