So on the Switching; does a TRS cable and a button do the trick on all functions ?

Nope.

They are 1/4" mono inputs. You can use a TRS to split to dual mono. To control all functions, you need either 2 trs to dual mono or 4 1/4" cables.

I did it all through MIDI with 2 trs to dual mono cables as well as by using a Voodoo Lab Control switcher with 4x1/4" cables.

You could leave the Loop always on or always off if you want, eliminating the need for a 1/4" connection using the push pull on the front. All functions can be controlled either by 1/4" cables or by just using the push pull functionality on the front. You could mix and match depending on your specific use.
