Yesterday, I stumbled onto this clip that I made in July 2019. I was using the Wizard MC50, Slash LP, Bogner OS2X12, SR16 for drums, and a Kay bass that's older than me.
It's not the popular Rig Talk type tune, or the tone that people seem to buy Wizards for. But it brought out just as much (if not more) of this kind of thing vs thrash metal heavy stuff. A versatile and inspiring amp that I miss sometimes, esp when I find a clip like this:

Man I dig this kind of stuff, nice work.

Actually I think the first clip I posted when I picked up an MTL a few years back was a Led Zep thing on the rhythm channel - lots of great tones to be had in Wizards if you go fishing.

Thanks and Yeah! I had an MTL for a while. It had so much body to the tone. So thick (yet clear), you could take a bite out it.
Really great lower gain sounds, despite the name.

Damn that sound good bro. Nice work and great tone.

I'm sure that didn't help @VonBonfire 's Wizard GAS

I can hear the Wizard thing in the top end. Cool texture. Nice clip.

Thanks man! Kinda wish I hadn't found it. Reignited my GAS for an MC50.

I don't think I could sell either of my Wizards if I had any choice at all. They have a thing to them I haven't heard in any other amps that I'd miss if I let them go.

If you get another, hold onto it!

When comparing to my amps at the time, I found it's mids were placed most like the Naylor, but it had that Wizard edginess to the highs and attack. Where a Naylor or SLO has singing sustainy saturation for solos, the Wizard has this dry, razor edge that's great for tight, thrashy stuff.

Yeah I tend to call that edginess they have a "smooth grit" kind of thing. "Scorch" might be a good word to describe the Wizard characteristic I think.

Sounds good. More the ballpark I go for sometimes with my MC. SR16, spent some time with that one myself back in the day.

Thanks! The MC is great for lighter breakup sounds. It's different voicing, openess and attack bring out different things in the playing vs other amps.

I can't believe they still make the SR16. It sounds so dated. Truth be told, I end up using it vs any software, due to how ez it is to create patterns and songs. Or even just tap a beat out.

They still make it? Wow. I guess it is kind of iconic like the 808’s. Greg Howe used that on alot of his albums, took a long time to notice it.

Thanks for posting a more “normal” clip of the Wizard. I like the more “classic” tones of them.

Good stuff! The MC 6L 50w I just grabbed is an animal and of the many Wizards I've owned, it's probably like #2 or 3. I like this more than the KT150 MCII I had and WAY more than the 100w MTL & 100w Hybrid tbh.

And compared to the MC25? I have had Wizard MC,MCll 50 since 2007 and still I want a MC25.
