I have JJEL34L's in both of my Modern Classics....perfect tube for the Wizards IMHO! They are the stock tubes....

Thanks for the reply. The amps sounds good with the Marshall tubes that are in it but I have a new quartet of JJs so why not try them out. I just wanted to check with the experts first.

I also had JJEL34 in my MC, but both my Metals had GT 6L6. Congrats on a killer amp.

I hated them in mine....they went in the trash within a week of getting my MC. I dont like the "hard" sound they have. Too much like the old Tesla EL 34's....its all in what you like though. :)

Will I have to rebias if I go from JJs to the Winged Cs? If so, I could order some winged Cs and change them myself as my amp guy is busy and not convenient. Is it a sickness to take an amp that already sounds good and look for so many options?

I always rebias when changing tubes...even when staying with the same brand. If you are happy with the sound I'd just play the amp as is....eventually you'll need to change tubes anyway, then you can swap to something else if you want. All I can say is I hated the JJ EL34L and EL34 and the GT version.

Got JJ's in my MC50 and I reckon it sounds awesome, when it's time for new ones I'll give the Winged C's a run.. I've heard good things about them, what are the differences from your experiences?
