Im thinking about buying one. I have only heard clips of it. I need some feedback on it. I really want to know about the gain structure on it. How heavy and modern can this thing get?

I got a new one that I will start playing tomorrow. I will let ya know ASAP! :)

I don't personally think the name Modern Classic really fits this amp too well only because it's definately more classic than modern. When I think of modern, I think more compressed. This amp is very open sounding. One of THE best Marshallish tone out there with a twist of their own flavor. Just my opinion.

mine is being fondled by customs agents right now :gethim:

hopefully this afternoon, i will be causing my wife to run around the place with a spirit level straightening all the pictures. wish my wizard cab was with it! but, it should be along in a couple weeks.

the level thing that is damn funny!

I have heard its not real gainy. I am not looking for a plexi sounding amp. Will the MC cover Megadeath and heavier music. Im not talking dropped tuning stuff, but I want to at least cover 80s and 90s metal.

Perfect amp for the 80's and 90's stuff. More gain than necessary for that. Killer, killer amp :D

When i first played one I thought that it sounded like a good marshall to me. They are without a doubt made incredible! and i've heard nothing but great things about customer support and etc...

Just not my thang .... not saturated or compressed enough and while it was probably the LOUDEST AND PROUDEST amp @ the ny amp show... It didn't have the OOMPH in the bottom that i like to hear from a modern amp... Different strokes for different folks though... Had the same impression @ last years namm to... Try one though dude you may dig...hit up Josh Sage he is the man!

all with volume control also crappy mic

We had a few too many and were just messing around.

But there is no boost on this one.

80's yes, definitely not ultra saturated 90's tones, even with a boost going into it.

It really is one of the best amps of all time, IMO but the feel is quite vintage oriented, so prepare to dig in. I'm used to it now, but they're not 'easy to play' amps at all, compared to Bogner, Mesa, etc.

How accurate is that clip to the real tone of the amp?

That was the MC100. Erock dials in tones like that. If you wish for a second opinion, you can give him a shout. I can replicate this on any of the MC's I have gotten in. That was the first one I had as a dealer. They have been consistent.

Josh ill call you tomorrow if thats cool. If you dont like talking on Sundays let me know and ill give you a shout on Monday.

Paul, the quality of amps you are used to will definately be a good factor if you decide to get the Wizard. I unboxed mine last nite late and you would not believe the Friggin quality they have in these things. The chassis on this mutha is top notch.
I am one of the most over the top guys that will ever buy gear. Just ask Josh and he called me today to get the scoop on my appraisal of this amp. I have talked to you and I know you are alot like me when it comes to quality. Josh is a real good source for Wizards, and not just becuase he is a dealer. Hey, it's a good bit of coin and I thought this thing over for almost or just a bit over a year.
