Coolness! Received this guitar and it is quite mint. Couple of tiny marks in the finish on the back of the neck but they are not noticeable when playing. I took off the neck and pickguard - I have some pics on my phone.

Neck is stamped ST-362F with a large V off to the side (large "B" in red)
Body is stamped 362FH (large red "B" in middle)

So I am thinking I have a 62 reissue strat with floyd, basswood body, from '87, with vintage frets.

It is pewter color and sounds really good. I removed a shim from the body cavity and set it up. I think its freakin killer for what I paid. Not sure I'll keep it as I need another superstrat like I need another hole in my head but it cool at the moment.
The schaller floyd is kinda cool - no need to remove ball end of strings - just silde em thru.

The Build date of the neck at least, should be written in pencil on the neck. The "Made in Japan" was scratched out on this neck, but you can see the serial number is written on heel of the neck not the headstock. The re-issue guitars are true to the originals, so a 62' re-issue would be a replica of a 62'(no floyd, humbucker,) I think Japan is still building strats for the Japanese market only, but I may be wrong. The best way to find info on this guitar is to contact fender, they gave me good info on mine. It's tough to find info on these guitars, I'm really just trying to help.

that is not one of the good ones regardless of how old it is. Old Original Floyds yes, old crappy floyds are still old and crappy ;) That trem does not lock at the bridge so it is essentially a single locking unit.

Yup. the single locking units are worthless trash; they will not hold tune with any sort of moderate use. Very cool guitar though -- just change the floyd to a double-locking unit.
