Im setting up a buddys guitar that has been sitting at his dads for many many years. It's an '86 PRS with the old locking tuners with collars like these https://cgi.ebay.com/Paul-Reed-Smith-PRS ... 27b802087e

Problem is is that the the tuners are rusted and two of the collars are broke. To buy the newer style PRS locking tuners is gonna be around $180 so I was thinking of putting some schallers on because I've used them with my EBMM's and they've always been really nice...and more than half the price of the PRS tuners

I'm sure the shallers would work but Im not sure the holes would line up

any suggestions??

thanks

I dont think the holes line up either, and I would check the diameter of the schallers vs the hole size to be sure.
I hate those locking collars

Yeah these collars suck! I spent forever scrubbing this thing only to find that two of these damn collars were broke!

He wasnt happy when I told him new PRS locking tuners were $180

I'd get the PRS tuners just to be sure I got the right thing. I say this because an 86 PRS has some real value on the used market if it's original or has original parts. If he does not care about value, then you could always drill holes in it and use other tuners, but man that's like spray painting a corvette to me.. Just my two pence though. Do what you will my friend. :-)
