S'a true story, though. Back in the day I was moonlighting with this band that wanted a 2nd guitar player because their main guy was a total flake. I was using a Crate power amp with an ART SGX-2000 Express and a single 4x12. This guy had a mad ADA MP-1-based 16-space rack setup straight outta GP magazine, but although he had all the gear his tone was crap. He just plugged everything in and hoped for the best--didn't know how to EQ, mix, etc.
So, I guess it stands to reason that you CAN take a great piece of gear and make it sound horrible...

YUP. Someone had a thread asking how to get a better live sound with the Axe-Fx. All i said was leave it home and bring your amp.
Scott deleted my signature .... same as the one below, it's about the man my mother named me after. .... with a warning. I let him know I had no idea I was breaking the rules. I have made a few post over there joking around about being a satanist and the post just disappeared ?

You guys have saved me a few quid with threads like this. I do not like or use effects a lot. I have not plugged in my rack in over a year. I have amps that cover all my vintage and modern flavor needs.

Stephen, you have always been a nice man. I recently was punished for stating how awesome it would be to be the chair that Alexander "Howard" Dumble was sitting in during a video everyone was commenting on in a thread.
I think the funniest thing about it was the fact that it was my signature over there for many months before Scott deleted it.
Actually I am just as much a ass hole as anyone else .... I just feel little need to join in on the "up your nose with a rubber hose" "she said what ?" nonsense I see on forums from time to time.
TGP is alright ....but this place is more like home.
