What an awesome player.

Also, check his tones and playing on these Suhr amp demos :thumbsup: ;

Probably my favorite player not named Eddie, Jimi, or Eric. I'm going to make a pilgrimage to California to see him live one of these days.

he's got this ability to create an atmosphere with his tones and playing that has to be experienced live to really appreciate.

you sense that channeling thing....not trying to be all cosmic now.....but the thing where a musician is so good, their instrument seems to fail to convey just how far they want to go with their creativity. i'm not talking shred, i'm talking tone, harmony, and melodies that evoke visions of lullabies to knife fights, in the span of one solo. phrases that inevitably makes the audience groan or shout involuntarily due to extreme tastiness.

Landau...my hero! :rawk:

If first getting into him, start with 'Tales From The Bulge' and go from there.

Big Landau fan here...especially the last live cd and early Burning Water and the Honkies stuff, but -even though it's part of his tone- the fuzz on those clips was my cup o joe.

Landau is supreme. Watching him play live is a real treat, he's one creative SOB. I prefered his live tone from the Raging Honkies and Burning Water days. But it doesnt matter he makes anything sound good. That Suhr Amp, i was told, is 71' Marshall Power section gutted into it. Like Scott Henderson's.

Are you talking about his OD100? I didn't know that. Interesting....

Not that any of us mortals could get his tones, as you say, it's mostly him.

I saw the Honkies while at GIT....

The drummer was awesome, that was pretty enjoyable to watch.

Yeah, Laboriel is a beast! Also. Landau's set-up with the Deluxe and Super with the Honkies in a small dive is still my fave tone of his

Bingo Ed. I think this was the protoype in this clip and Scott speaks a bit on it and I've read an interview from he says that the Marshall Parts were from his old 71', im sure John could vailidate this. I was told Mike uses the same amp
