My god, you are right. Never saw anybody nail Yngwie's style and solos.

It cracks me up when people bash his playing, oh, he just goes up and down the Phrygian scale at 1000 miles an hour with no emotion or feel???? What??? Lets here it son........

Imo, one of the greats to walk this earth. Fuck anybody that do not agree.....lol

Kidding of course on this last sentence....

First time I’ve ever heard someone nail this.

Simply terrifying! The guy nailed it. I know who i'd want to see play in an Yngwie tribute... this dude!

Damn that was good. The tone, feel and precision that made me pick up the guitar back in the 80's right there.

Needs more leather and gold.

And needs to gain a few pounds if he wants to look like Yngwie....

  JK, I know Yngwie isn't as big as he was a few years ago

Maybe I haven't watched enough shredders, but I've never quite seen alternate picking technique like that. His wrist stays pretty still, and he moves his thumb/pointer finger up and down. It looks effortless! When I alternate pick, my thumb/pointer stay pretty locked in position and my wrist takes the brunt. HMMMM...

Guess you guys never heard of Mr. Joe Stump?

I have. He doesn’t sound like this guy. I saw Stump in person at the NY Amp show many years ago. After 2 minutes, I walked away. lol

I think there are a bunch of guys that can play Yngwie like Yngwie and in fact, better than Yngwie because they play like OLD Yngwie.. this guy was smooth though. The take away for me is how amazing Malmsteen was in the first place and how well he used to craft his solos. Now he just goes off.

To be fair, at least Stump has tried to put his own spin on the neoclassical thing. (in so far as anyone can do) I didn't mind this at all.., great vibrato and pretty smooth arpeggios and phrasing. He's a good player, I wouldn't walk out on this:

The thing is, is that Joe Stump is so good, well great, he makes it look easy and effortless, way too easy and effortless. He's a great guy and will share technique and is always willing to talk guitar. He teaches up in Boston and plays area shows and is totally approachable after performing to talk shop.

So you're saying he's just like Yngwie then, right? ;)

I agree... at least Stump is making his “own” music. I like the clone players, but let’s face it. They aren’t creating anything new.
