WTB: Mesa Mark IV head

There’s a IVa long head for $1800 on FB marketplace in West Valley City UT.
 
I sold a mint IV Short Head B version a few months back for $1450. They are definitely going for more than they used too and not popping up too often. Good luck, I hope you find one.
 
I bought two Mark IV's last year. A long B head for $900 that was mint and a Mark IV A that was pretty rough for $1000. Sent that back to Boogie for a full overhaul but I'm still in it for under $1400. They used to go around $1200 or less regularly. Now if you can even find one they are closer to 2k. I personally believe they are on their way to IIC+ territory in the not to distant future.

Agreed that all II, III and IV are jacking in price! Today is not yesterday.

There are also some combos on FB marketplace & CL about the country. Have to put some work in, though.

It’s just craziness, right now. IIB’s listing for $2-3K, IIC+’s for $4-8K, III’s for $2-4K, and IV’s north of $2K. That‘s leaving Coli’s out of most of the convo....

Yeah it’s excessive. IIC+ have mythic status and the IV is getting there. Even a year ago I saw short head IV selling for 2k. 1200 was where they used to be for a long time. The market is getting more expensive and I’m sure it will only maintain or get worse after the Sale to Gibson. I got really lucky and got a IIC+ long head in the low 2s and a long head IVB transitional model that was beyond mint with a metal grill 2x12 vertical Mesa for 1200 bucks. I like both heads but 2k+ for a IV and 4-6k for a IIC+ probably wouldn’t be worth it to me personally with so many great amps out now at lower price points.
 
Just wait until you start seeing Mesa 50 cals go for 3k in a few years. "from the good years."
 
I'm seeing Mark III's in the 1500-2000 range also. I remeber when GC used was littered with them in the $800-1200 range.
