greetings to everyone!!!

I have a 1960BHW and I think I'm gonna give a shot to some different speakers...
I already have 4 G12H 55hz mounted in the cab...
Looking for more mids...

I was thinking the G12M HERITAGE(have seen haleboxe's videos with prerola g12h 55 and g12m 75 and I loved the sound)
As an alternative I could get 2 G12H 75hz and make an X or bottom/top...

I tried the vin30-G12H 55 X pattern and I didn't like it...(don't like vin30 in general)

I use a slightly modded 2204.

Thanks in advance.

We agree on the V30- too shrill for me. Don't know if it's my ears or the speaker itself but that's how it rolls for me. Creambacks paired with a variety of others has always been successful for me but everyone's taste is a bit different. Good ;luck with it!

I know that you don't like the V30's, but I have a V30 and the 75's that came in it and I love it. I also have cabs that are loaded with V30's and whatever is in a Mesa Rec Cab and the Marshall 1960B with those two speakers just sings. It's tight, but still warm.

I have used that cab with various Marshall heads, Engl's, Recto's, it doesn't matter, it just works better than my other cabs.

I have V30 and T75 at bottom in the 1960B.
I tried the X pattern, and prefer top/bottom mix.

My cab have a V30 flavour, with more and tight bass.
Very different to the various greenbacks derivates.

since I have 4 g12H 55 and kinda like the sound I was probably keep the 2 of them and mix them with something...something with more mids...

or buy 4 g12-65 and be done with it...????

-go with your first idea-

-75hz GREENBACKS + 55hz GREENBACKS-(I have this configuration in an old pine FENDER BASSMAN-

-usually any MARSHALL or MARSHALL based platform, you do things to tame the "MARSHALL mid-honk",... the 55hz GREENBACKS are great at this,...

-if you have a V-30 or a 75,.. try just one of them in the bottom-(+3 H/M GREENBACKS )-

-if your not a 55HZ GREENBACK fan,... they're very easy to sell-(look in the classifieds here)-

-you have a very desirable cab-

you mean a mix of g12m/g12h or h55/h75?
i like my h55's...looking for something "more"...to fill the hole in the mids...
I just cannot like the vintage 30...

Mind giving an example of what tone you are looking for? AC/DC-ish, Dokken-ish or just punch you in the face-ish..

Then get rid of the 55's all together. They're too dark.

ok...and what should I get...??
by the way...I think that my g12h55 are way brighter than my v30's...
they do have a hole in the mids though...

Scumback M75's and H75's sound great. I've got a pair of H's I'd be willing to part with.

-put one of your V-30's in the bottom of your BHW cab-(of course you know there are a few versions of V-30's,.... most people prefer the MESA or the MARSHALL original versions)-

-if you want mids, V-30's are it-(you may not like a full cab of them, but since you have some, do the abovementioned)-

G12 65s and an 800 are a match made in tonal heaven. Maybe try 2 65s first with your 55s? The WGS ET65 is a decent clone, original 65s are hard to come by.

When I had my AHW cab, I did an X pattern of stock speakers (Heritage g12h30's) and MESA V30's. That cab rocked!

I had a Mesa Stiletto Ace 2x12 combo at the time and wanted to experiment. I took the v30's out of the Mesa and put them in the AHW cab. 2 of the Heritage g12h30's went into the Stiletto. It was a win win situation!

ok hre's some feedback...
I tried the g12h55/v30 X pattern and didn't like it so I tried the v30 bot/g12H55 top...
And that was a nice change!!!!
kinda preffer it this way...so no X pattern for me...

I have found 2 G12M HERITAGE GREENBACKS for cheap...
Would it be a good idea to put them in the top...? (96db vs 100db)

thanks

-it's always a good idea to get some nice greenbacks-

-seriously,.... try 3 greenbacks-(H/M/55hz/75hz)-and "ONE" V-30 in the bottom...

-"ONE V-30"+3 GREENBACK's"-

-the FRIEDMAN formula-(2 GREENBACKS on top & 2 V-30's on the bottom)-is a great classic/modern mix,.. but for what you want is more classic than modern.

-try out a 75hz greenback cab, that might be exactly what your "listening for"..

i had a 4 greenback cab...
it was nice...
but could not do the classic european metal stuff...
could do easily lynch-demartini etc but not hoffman or newer power metal...

-nu metal is a predominantly V-30's-

-METAL is V-30's & 75's-(as in the much hated 75's not 75hz greenbacks)-

-LYNCH BACK's are a greenback & V-30 mix-

-do you have an EQ pedal?..... incredibly powerful tone shaping tool & clean boost-
