Yamaha THR10X

I picked one these up a few weeks back and I've been enjoying every minute of it. Going from EVH to Satch on Brown 1 and that's where I've been happy. Not to mention the clean is amazing! The new Deluxe modeled clean is gorgeous.

Just got one of these and they are a blast. I ordered the x and they sent the regular Thr-10,so I reordered the x so I can try them side by side then send one back. Keeping the X. Sounds great at low volume and sounds incredible through a pair of powered monitors. it has kinda of a surround sound thing going on making it sound much bigger than it is.I wish it had a foot switch so you could change presets. Most fun I've had in a while with a piece of gear.

Is it possible to run multiple effects? Or are you governed by one at a time?

Thanks

I picked one up two weeks and it is worth it IMO. I have not messed with it much, but the Brown Channel with a little delay/reverb setting is awesome.

I think you can. It is a cool little amp!!

I've been seriously considering this for some time. This thread may have just sealed the deal for me.

I had the X and recently traded it for the regular 10. The X was great but I only found the Brown setting usable for me. The clean was good too. I prefer the versatility of the regular version.

Got one coming in today to use for early morning /late night practices. I'll report back once I put it through its paces.

I've had one about 8 months now. Love the Brown I and II settings, and they are just about all I use. To me it sounds better than most of the iRig or Line6 modeling through headphones. I also dig the way the amp sounds through the speakers. I just wish they made it in a slightly larger/louder format so you could use it for jamming with others, etc.

Hey I have a like new in the box 10x Army Green Heavy Metal version that I would trade for a mint yellow regular version if anyone is interested.

I've been considering picking one of these up. I'm curious how well the USB works to record. Any issue with latency? Any issues when you use it record with a different daw than what it comes with?

Can you gig with one of these things? Someone mentioned it sounding killer thru powered monitors. . .so could you run it direct thru a PA and gig?

I need one of these.

You could but there's no real way to change presets other than pressing a button on the top of the unit.

I've got the original one. No output other than the USB and a headphone jack. Haven't tried the headphone out to an amp yet. A line out would have been very cool on this. I haven't dealved into mine too much as I have a cool setting on the hi-gain mode and I like it so much I never really went beyond that! Cool little amp.

My buddy has the THR10 model and he has ran it into his PA at church via the head phones jack. He said it worked great. I do wish they made a larger model of the THR10 or THR10X kind of like Line 6 or the Peavy Vyper. That would be cool since the tone of these things are great. A speaker out and line out would of been a cool addition too!!

If you read through the manual, they say that the phones jack IS a line out!!! If you check the diagram, the phones jack has the same routing as the speaker outs. So you get the exact same output in both. Cool.

I just got mine and is it ever a cool sounding little amp.

I also read that you can turn on and off the 3-D imaging in the reverb settings.

I love it,

Chris

I have the 10X and honestly was ready to send back, then I ran the headphone out to the line in on my 5 watt pro-tube combo. OMG, sounds great! Just playing through the stock speakers is not very satisfying. Not very loud and you have to have at ear level pretty much.

Could have a big winner if they could do a combo amp with those tones and make it footswitchable.

Yep, just use one of these in the phone out and you can crank it in stereo through a PA, powered monitors ect.

There's also a foot switch mod I saw on another forum.

Now that Yamaha owns Line 6, L6 would do well to visit Yamaha engineers and take some notes.
