i'd say either he had to be using a pedal out of view or else those pickups are 20k output!!

I think it's just hot pick ups. I have put my PM thru the paces, so I feel I know it in and out. IMO, that's how much gain it has, obviously a little more in the HI input. Guaranteed, if you were to play that exact set up, it would "feel" as though there wasn't as much gain as you "hear" in that video.

I agree 100%. I don't think there is a pedal on that... sounds like an unboosted PM with a high output pickup...

Every YouTube compressed vid camera audio thing I hear sounds a bit gainier than straight mp3s btw...
