No, please continue. I never get tired of your ridiculous rantings.

I'm not surprised to hear something like this from a little Seymour Duncan troll.

Still pissed about being banned (again) I guess.

I think everyone knows who the troll is.

LOL fool, I wasn't banned. I left voluntarily because after I joined, I saw a bunch of whiney liberal douchebags putting down President GW Bush and exalting Barack Obama. That alone is enough to drive away any moderate conservative. I don't agree with a board who allows only liberal points of view.

Furthermore, I can't stand places like SD where they hate shredders and have a big wet love affair with John Mayer. Not to mention, there is a higher caliber of players on Rig-Talk and TGP to learn from.

Oh yeah, here's a little smiley face back at you

Oh, yeah it must have been the "whiney liberal douchebags"...

I can't imagine why of course, you seem like such a nice and knowledgeable guy.

I am sorry I derailed the thread about donut killer's new sig pup.

Carry on.

I agree with Psychodave, the older HS-3's made in the 80's for some reason sounded warmer, im lucky i held on to those, great pickups for kicking in OD's.

Maybe Yngwie felt the same way and Dimarzio wasn't making them the way Yngwie liked and insisted on keeping the costs down? Maybe Duncan will build them at a more expensive signature quality level? Maybe Yngwie gets more of a cut from SD?

i think these reasons mean alot.

bye bye

Not exactly a tight fit on that neck...
nor are those frets looking exceptionally polished for a promo pic ---probably assembled in camaroon by a blind snake charmer :D
and just why did they "scallop" the pickguard when you cannot access the truss adjustment screw? relic purposes?

I think that neck has the bullet, but those frets need some work.

I doubt the new Seymour Duncan YJM's will live up to Dimarzio HS3/YJM's. Seymour Duncan is a greater commercial pickup manufacturer, but they don't make better pickups than Dimarzio.

In fact, I think it's quite arrogant of Seymour Duncan to state the following, "When Yngwie J. Malmsteen set out on a quest to bring his tone to a higher level, he turned to Seymour Duncan," when we still have yet to see Seymour Duncan produce a better pickup than a Super Distortion, PAF Pro, Evolution, Breed, Air Norton, FRED or PAF Classic.

Yngwie could have asked Dimarzio, Fender or even EMG for a new pickup, but Seymour Duncan won out on commercial value alone - because Guitar Center carries more Seymour Duncans than any other pickup. In fact, if pickup retailers had any pickup knowledge at all, places like Guitar Center would sell a lot more Dimarzios.

I don't have any interest in the Duncan YJM pickup because:

A. Dimarzio has always made superior single-size humbuckers than Seymour Duncan
B. Seymour Duncan doesn't have anything more special to offer than any other pickup manufacturer
C. YJM is synonymous with Dimarzio HS3, and he's at the twilight of his career, so his *new* sound is kind of irrelevant
D. Seymour Duncan has higher prices than Dimarzio
E. Seymour Duncan has ------ quality control than Dimarzio
F. Seymour Duncan offers about 4 great pickups (Custom Custom, Full Shred, Seth Lover, Pearly Gates) which are overpriced, and the new YJM isn't one of them.

I could go on but I'm disgusted with Seymour Duncan's arrogance. I'll leave it at that.
Wow, I'm sorry you feel that way, there are a lot of people who will disagree with you based on their personal experiences. A lot of what you're saying just happens to be false, plain and simple, not based on opinion, some of the other things you say are opinions that, if rooted in a solid understanding of what we do and how we do it, would likely be changed.

As for the "he came to Seymour Duncan" quote, I'm sorry if it offends you, but it's also true and accurate. I didn't write that, but if it seems pompous it's not meant to be.

Wow there seems to be some Duncan hate here on this board... lol. Back when I worked in the retail music industry 87-95, Duncan was considered to be the smaller less corporate company. They seemed to have better quality (better sound to my ears), but didn't really invest much in endorsements which is why many shredders eventually moved to Dimarzio (ala Gilbert and the Shrapnel kids). My other problem with Dimarzio was that although I didn't mind the dimarzios, many of the ones I've come across were highly microphonic which drove me crazy (think the old US BC Richs). My favorite combo is the old Dimarzio PAF in the neck position, with brighter guitars, paired with a Duncan custom in the bridge.

I also prefer the older sound that Yngwie achieved and although I would concede and say that the older HS3's did sound better than the newer ones, I actually think he had a better tone with the old FS-1's he used in the Alcatrazz days though they did have noise issues. Anyone agree?

Damn it is too bad Fender does this on a now $2000 guitar, that is what I saw when I played a 2009 model. WTF??????

Past 4 I have seen.

Sorry, $2000 I want a perfect guitar build wise.

Some of the finest sounding vintage Fenders don't have microscopic tight neck joints. What's your point? That some Strat used for a photo represents every Yngwie model made?

i hear you and agree to a certain degree-
but that photo was taken from fender's website as an official downloadable desktop image.

I had four different YJM Strats over time, a 2000, a 2002, a 2005 and a 2009 and they all had that gap, some worse than others. I think it has to do with the neck size more than anything. My EJ body fits like my extra tight pair of Calvin's.

Vid of you wearing them while wearing workboots playing De Do Do Do would be fantastic.

HS-3 and YJM are very low output even though they are over 23K DC Res.. They are also humbucking, and VERY quiet at that.

Thx. I just wanted to clear that up in case anybody is confused by all of the misinformation in this thread.
