It's a completely different design than other popular wahs. To try and compare them via price point isn't exactly fair =) This is based on the EMB Audio Remote Wah which was a completely different filter design than traditional wahs. The only thing they have in common is that they both produce a "wah effect". Basically we took the Remote Wah and redesigned it to fit into our handmade chassis and added several new features that the original Remote Wah did not have.
Feature Overview:
100% handcrafted design
Completely analog signal path with studio quality headroom
True bypass for signal clarity
No traditional wah pot, switch, or gears to wear out
Adjustable START (Low) and FINISH (High) like the original Remote Wah
Adjustable DEPTH control like the original Remote Wah
New WEIGHT control which adjusts the thickness of the sound/feel
W-Expansion port (reserved for future use)
Four different pedal sweep tapers
Selectable effect on/off switches allow you to turn the Wah on/off at the Heel and Toe positions (or both)
Guitar and Bass mode switch
Output level switches provide 4 different attenuation options including the original Remote Wah output
Illuminated foot plate
"Big Foot" pedal chassis
Predrilled and pre tapped M4 holes for pedalboard mounting
Requires 6AA cells or 500ma 9V center negative power supply
This is not targeted towards the jimi/vintage crowd, but it can easily hit/fill that tonal frequency spectrum. It actually goes from 50hz to 4.5khz and you can dial it in anyway you wish to get the exact range you want. For those that have love the tone it has produced for big guys in the 1980s and 1990s, this is the end to a 25 year search, lol. But for everyone else, I do understand it coming off as a "$500 wah pedal".
