That said, I owned pre-rola and early 70’s rola greenbacks and I much preferred the rolas. I also love the 6402 greenback reissues. I have a nice lightly used quad of 1972 greenback 25’s that I’ve owned since 1990 that I use rarely in a 72 Marshall cab.

Yea, those originals sound awesome but I was surprised on how much closer the Warehouse sounded to the original vs the Reissue.

Just goes to show how everyone can hear things differently.. If I didnt have the originals the reissues would be my next choice, the warehouse sounded dark

WGS sound really good, no matter which copy it is..but under high volume the Celestion takes the prize. I had some ET 65s in a Marshall cab next to an early 80s Marshall with G12 65s. Really similar tone but when pushing the volume the ET 65 kinda got mushy while the Celestion sounded better/tighter as I got louder. WGS are priced great though, and if you only need low/medium volumes they sound spot on.

Totally agree...I favor the Rola 70s creamback the best. I've had 2 cabs with them, a 74 and now a 76 and they blow away any other version I've tried including blackbacks. These have the RIC cones. I've also tried a pre Rola cab and they are great for blues/classic rock but for high gain, I'll take the RIC cones every time.

The original sounds the best no question. The wgs and the reissue sound so similar I'd not spend the extra credits for the wgs if I was to decide based on this vid
