you guys are pathetic in your minds.... everything is fucking farmed out your clothes... better sell your cars n fkn pickup trucks ... just cuz an amp is made in china doesnt make it shit as so many perceive... thats bullshit!

foreign cars are built way better than american...

better toss your fkn ibanez gtrs...

and gibson american quality ha ha ha fkn plz!

A great way to get people to see your point of view is to insult them and call them names. You're like a child.

I did but it was valid just cuz stuff is made in china or wherever doesn't mean it's less than n just cuz something is made in America doesn't mean it's great.

I did apologize for harshness I can admit when I am wrong. But I stand by the initial thread. I've heard of guys on trips to some of these foreign shops n they say quality control is excellent.

Again sorry for lashing out but some comments are not justified by others either.
Cheers !

I think it's entirely possible to have a boutique level build quality product made in China, you just have to look at the reality of the situation.

Most guitar/amp/whatever companies who make the decision to outsource to China aren't based on the premise of producing a better quality product than can be made elsewhere. They are making the decision to save money, and that is why there is a stigma and reaction from some people.

As someone said in a previous post in the thread, it all starts with who is making the decision to have something made there and what is their motivation for doing so.

It's likely not so you can have better quality transformers in your tube amp. j/k

I think we had some of this discussion before. But, what I don't get is how the math works out to take US (or UK) parts/components or wood, ship them to China, build an amp or assemble a guitar, ship the completed item back to the US (or UK), pass it from distributor to retailer and sell it at a profit on the internet to the consumer - and in a timely manner. Of course, volume has some impact, but still.....seems like all the profit margin is eat up in shipping, administration, duties, etc. Maybe the Chinese aren't exactly working on profit right now, but investing in the future control, imbalance and domination of global trade.

If a retailer is working on a 25% profit margin and the manufacturer is doing the same on an amp that sells for $1500. That puts the cost of manufacturing, shipping, duties, etc. less than $1000. Lets put the cheapest tubes in a 100 watt amp. There's $100. A cheap set of transformers lets say $200. A headshell for say $100 and the same for a chassis and plates. There's $500 and boards, electronic components, pots, knobs, jacks, etc. aren't priced in yet, let alone the cost of assembly.

I am trying to support things made here, by Americans, so they will have a job. Every time you buy foreign, it sends your money elsewhere.

Oh yeah? Then why does that chick in your avatar have the Canadian flag on her bikini bottom? hmm? Answer that, captain smartypants. :gethim:

just by what i like and always liked i have always bought either British or American or Canadian guitar amps & hifi gear.... American British or Japanese guitars & FX pedals & German cars...... so far all this shit i have has been super reliable & i'll continue buying this way....... another thing with buying American products is the after Sales...it isnt a pain in the ass to get repaired or replaced & holds a good used value......in my experience
