Wondering how you fella's are setting channel 1 mostly and what Preamp tubes if you know
This is what I do.
CHANNEL 1
Gain: 3 o'clock
Volume: 1-2 o'clock
Treble: 12-1 o'clock
Mids: 3 o'clock
Bass: noon
When I dime the gain to about 3 o'clock it really brings the clean and crunch/texas modes to life for me, ALOT more touch sensitive. The mega mode still sounds good, lots of saturation almost too much but in a good-sounding-boosted-out-Marshall-kind-of-way.
Channel 2
Gain: 1 o'clock
Volume: 3 o'clock
Treble: 1 o'clock
Mids: 2 o'clock
Bass: Noon
These setting change from room to room. Sometime I scoop the mids other times I boost them. Depends on how hot or boombostic the room is.
If you haven't tried it I recommend raising the gain on Ch 1. I need to check my tube in V1, it could be a 12AT7. Had it for 2 yrs and change the power tubes twce. Maybe thats why I need so much gain?
If I don't raise the gain the clean mode is really quite compared to the texas and mega modes. It seems like the gain knob acts more as the volume for mode 1 then the actual vol. knob.

This is what I do.
