I am looking at a few possible pedals....Providence Chrono, Hardwire DL8, Boss, Timeline. Whats your current favorite delay and why? Thx

DD-5.

I prefer digital delay and I love it's pristine repeats. Always works and always sounds great. Does what it's supposed to do.
I don't care about tap tempo or strange effects, just a good clean delay.

I do have a Flashback x4 for that stuff, but usually just set it for standard delays. Slap, long, longer.

For what? Friedman, Cameron, Cornford as in your signature?

For those amps I'd go with the Deluxe Memory Man styled Strymon Brigadier.

superunknown, I think it was you that had a killer youtube video with a Cameron modded marshall and an el capistan that sounded amazing!! what about that?? it sounded so good man!

Yep that was mine...thx man! Just looking for a killer digital counterpart

I like the Diamond Memory Lane Jr

Top quality build
Top quality sound
All the features you need, none of the superfluous features you'll never use

Not very boutique but they work great, Aqua-Puss for slapback, DL8 for brighter, Carbon Copy for darker.

I was just in a similar hunt. I bought a DD3 online and got screwed with a pedal that didn't work and a seller that vanished and being that I was left with a small budget I bought a joyo digital delay for a temporary solution. I have to say, I am pretty impressed. The pedal only cost me $30 brand new and is selling for $30-45 most places and delivers a pretty quality sound for the price. The other delay pedals I tried in my recent travels were the flashback mini and the DD3. Loved them both. I also had a Line 6 DL4 for a long long time and it was extremely useful.

i'd say at the moment the roland space echo re-20 pedal, really like the features the various multi head modes and the tone

after that the strymon el capistan, mxr carbon copy are probably strong contenders

Hardwire DL8 the modulated delay is fantastic for me, I like the little chorus on the repeats and the warm sound!

I havent had a chance to play it yet, but the new Korg SDD-3000 looks awesome .

Love my DD-7, also have a flashback X4, lets me keep a few presets available, sounds good to my ears.

+1 ;)

I love the El Capistan for clean stuff and after my dirt pedals and the Carbon Copy in the loop.

Love the Strymon Timeline. A bit overkill at times but still amazing!

^^^ this one.

I have the Strymon Timeline and it's the best sounding delay I've ever heard. You need to spend some time with it to get all of it features down but man, it sounds pure as the driven snow. I have it in my loop and programmed my expression pedal with it to bring in the mix of delay. I leave it always on and use the expression pedal to bring in delay as need. Hell down, no delay... Crack it open just a tad, nice touch of delay...toe down and your doing stadium solos that echo off into the night.
It's expensive, but sometimes they pop up used for a decent price. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed
