Lundgren black heaven is currently my favorite, I have one in a 7 and 8 string (both tuned a step down).
I only have the ceramic version, I’m curious to try the alnico model but haven’t yet.
Lundgren M7 is currently runner-up (was my favorite for years), it’s a bit less bright, and more ‘metal’ in its voicing.
I really like the SD Alpha & Omega set.
Duncan Nazgul
Hmm I played the 6 string version and didn’t like it for standard tuning…big difference in your opinion when it’s on a downtuned guitar?
I have it on a guitar tuned in D, and it is one of my favorites. It is great for Fear Factory / Pantera style riffing.
DiMarzio Evolution 7
I’m digging it
Cool thanks dudes, will add em to the list!
Lundgren m series the only ones I’ve dug. End result… is back to all EMG81Xs lolGimme some ideas please

JB. Mids, articulation, grind, cut.
Absolutely not, zero fuckin chance lolI swear by JBs on 6 string for E and Eb…but good for down tuning on a 7 string?
Absolutely not, zero fuckin chance lol
Forgot that my MH-307 had some EMG HZ pickups in it but don't think they sell those separately.EMG H4

I've played the duncan designed "jb", Nazgul, Distortion bridge and neck, Invader and Custom 7-string versions and for downtuning I would say the Custom would be the best with the Nazgul. For standard tuning the Distortion is great and the Invader isn't bad either. I haven't played other brands passive 7-string offerings so can't compare or comment on them.
