That was awesome.

It actually saddens me, knowing that I will never experience playing in a big ensemble like that.
Yeah. The whole CD has good stuff on it, but that particular piece, especially coupled with that scene, is just awesome. There's music, and there's music that means something. Great stuff.

I'm not as saddened about not playing in an ensemble like that as much as I will never be able to compose something like that. That's why other people make the big bucks, I guess. :)

Kasper, for what its worth, I used to play in the University Jazz Band at Virginia 'Tech, about 18 players, and it was the tightest group I ever played in. Amazing music, I miss it pretty badly at times. Even played a gig behind Arturo Sandoval. Blew my damn mind :D

That sounds awesome

I hope some day play with a big ensemble. It will be on guitar of course... And it will be a joyous day.

But I envy (in the way that I am happy for them) violinists (for example) that have the opportunity to be part of a great movie score.
Then again, they will probably never experience playing at full blast through a Marshall full stack. :D

They guy that played violin for the Dixie Dregs did, right? Think he played on a Derek Sherinian album or two as well. I was a band nerd growing up, so I played in a lot of large ensembles in regional-level groups, and I always ended up enjoying the smaller jazz groups more. That said, the VT Jazz Band was killer! At the time, I was playing horn though, not guitar, only picked guitar up after I left school.

My two favorites are LOTR and the fountain. The fountain soundtrack gives me chills at times...

The Fountain was a trippy movie. I did like the music for that. Pagan's Mind sounds cool over it's visuals.
