About 50% of my bands songs are in drop D. We have opened for a lot of national acts over the past year which gives us a short set (about 6-7 songs). This gives me no time in between songs to tune or grab another guitar so I have gravitated toward my 2007 Musicman Axis because of the D-tuna. I am becoming very comfortable with it live now and it has moved into the "#1" slot.
I have the same guitar as the OP and believe it is one of the best LP's I have ever played. I think there is something special about early 2000's LP Classics.

i dont have a pictureof my #1 on this computer, but it is a black USA wolfgang special, with a set of chris carter custom wound pickups. it just has the mojo thing going on that my other guitars dont

Man, not to sound like a dick, but ya'lls number ones are waaay too frickin' pretty? I mean they look like off the shelf new? 
My #1 is beat to shit, smells like cig-smoke, barf, barwhore coconut lotion, beerpiss, pawnshop stank, etc............ Then again, it hasn't lived it's life in my "smoke-free-studio" either........... At least not until I have it detailed and try to sell it on e-bay...

Since the beginning of the month it has been my long-awaited Suhr Custom Modern...
But prior to that, I had been playing my Gibson LP since buying it new in the spring of 2010 and despite having owned several nice superstrats and a couple more LP types since, I got rid of the rest of them and kept my Trad as my only guitar for a long while, simply because of the mojo quotient that it possesses.
