I have a Classic Vibe Esquire that punches above its weight. It's not a CS-quality guitar by any means, but it holds its own.
The tuners, pickups, and hardware overal sucked, but the husk is good. I know they are different guitars, but I'd put it up against a PRS SE any day of the week. I say that because the husk is good on those, but the pickups and hardware suck as well, but they're way more expensive, LOL.

I don't know about a $600 Squire but I got an affinity for $199 that I like a little too much and I'm not even a Strat guy.
