having just learned that the Pete Thorn model OD100 is inspired by a 5150 III, and 5150 III's sound great, i decided to do some clip searching and stumbled upon this video.

I always like the sound he gets from his CAA amps in his videos. I haven't seen any other person be able to get that grind and saturation like he does. I wonder what kind of speakers were used in this video?

My guess would be that a lot of it has to do with his pups. He's used either EMG's or Duncan Blackouts with the EMG SBC mid boost. All of his vids kill, and they all have that wicked grind and saturation. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the pups and SBC boost are a common factor.

Same with the Egnater Seminar head video. I heard that video and shit myself. I couldn't get my hands on a SH quick enough. Then, I get it and it didn't sound nearly as good as his. Sounded good, but not like that.

I agree with people saying that this tone sounds very much like his other tones (out of other amps). It is a great tone, very gainy. I think that his Blackouts make that tone more than anything else.

Mark I just bought a Koko Boost, and the Edirol R-09 HR. I hope to post some videos as well!
I saw this video a million times along side all of the others, they rock as usual. I really hoping you get your hands on the new Suhr PT-100 soon enough, I have high hopes for that amp...
