A well made, more affordable Gibson-like product is surely both welcome and needed.
There is enough angst in the Gibson thread for this to be a plus, surely?
And stop calling me Shirley (I'll pre-empt that one).

I'd like to show you a fantasmagorically made Gibson Les Paul like guitar at a fantastic price point. :D

Look I find early Zakk amazing and deserving and I am a fan of his Early Ozzy and P&G days.
But for whatever Reason he changed his formula too much.
Tastefull Pinch usage went too constant pinch wanking, big juicy Marshall tone went too loud, chorus drenched mud.

I agree with you 100%. He seems to have lost his sense of hook and melody in his playing. BUT I'm guessing the kids who like his BLS disagree 100% and much prefer him now than to his early days.

I picked up the latest BLS album and was actually surprised at his soloing. Wayyyyy less widdly widdly burn/ harmonics and much more melody driven... It was still a mess of notes, but you can hear the melody within them. That was something that has been missing from his playing for about a decade "Melody in the solo".

Always been a Zakk fan, always will be... Just like Eddie,Rhoads, Lee,Friedman, Hammet, Demartini, Lynch, Hettfield, "too many to list"... but many of my favorites have either had a decline playing ability or decline in writing hooks/good music. They're still "amazing" in my opinion!

Interested to see how this pans out for him. If it works, great for him. If not, I'm sure he'll do just fine.

Maybe they left him?
This! They don't do endorsement based on what you did 10+ years ago.

Jake E. Lee - Charvel
DeMartini - Charvel
Lynch - ESP

If these guys can get a deal then.....Zakk did more for Gibson and Marshall the last 15 yrs than anyone...from those stupid SG-Vs, bullseye epihones, silly coffin guitars, to the grail custom shop...both companies would be stupid to let him go based on a business standpoint.
Any of those guys have endorsements with Gibson?

The point was the guys I listed haven't exactly been setting the world on fire in the last 15 years....I would like to see what player HAS sold the most crap for his company in the last 15 years...Im sure Eddie gets number 1...and Im sure Zakk would make the top ten list too. Again, business wise, you would be a fool to let him walk regardless of what you think about his music. Like I said before, lets wait and hear the things first before we pass judgement...but, then again, this is Rigtalk.

WGAS? If you want to be Zakk, but a LPC and a Marshall and have it modded like he did. For years he played modded Marshalls even when he was with Marshall. I think the company was M&G. As soon as he got his sig, pretty much all info disappeared. They basically rebuilt all of his amps. It was no big deal. A paint job doesn't make a sig for a guitar either. Go find a used '80s LPC. Done.

His name is Jeffrey Wielandt. His name is Jeffrey Wielandt. His name is Jeffrey Wielandt.
Nice "Fight Club" reference there... I liked that.

This is a good point Uncle Mo
Whatever people may say about what Zakk is or has become, there was a time where he was indeed "at the top." I will always respect him for that.
That said, I did see a BLS show a few years back and it was pretty cool. He rocked his ass off.

I loved his playing in the earlier days, with lots of Blues and Country roots. His acoustic picking is insane.
Never a big fan of his electric tone and could not stand the last BLS concerts. But I saw him and Nick in an "unplugged" gig at the Iridium in 2013 and it was great.

Whatever, I wish him luck, I guess he's a good guy.

According to the site, he should be there today demoing his gear. Waiting to hear that amp!
Always a ZW fan no matter what!!

...that logo...the "W" with the little horn/hook looking thingie... Or is it supposed to mimic his fingernail?

I wondered the same thing. It's probably an ode to his queer fingernail. Dude is worse than reheated tv dinner.

That's just the Old English font.

It's probably on the computer you're using.

Lets wait and hear it first. And lets be honest, alot of guys on this forum who post clips with the 5k amp of the month will never accomplish or come close to this guy's talent. Moreover, give Zakk a practice amp and an Epiphone and he would probably mop the floor with 99.9% of the the Rigtalkers with the 5k amps. Im sure if he ever checked out some of the clips people post on this sight he would ask himself the following: (because alot of guys i know ask the same thing).....4k amp (whatever the flavor of the week is) , Custom Shop guitar, handmade cabs....and still sound like garbage???? I mean, an open G, maybe a badly played Van Halen or Ratt riff.... this is what you can get out of 10k worth of gear???? .... Money does not equal talent..You know who you are and know that the truth hurts. I hear he is going out on another U.S tour this spring and maybe Europe..cusp of being irrelevant???..what do you have going on?

I agree with all of this.

Zakk has become an over-the-top biker version of himself and I honestly stopped paying much attention years ago. BUT... he's done some monster playing and I have NO doubt that he can still bang it out. I saw him several years ago when Ozzy was out with Rob Zombie and I gotta say... while his solo didn't speak to me on an artistic or emotional level, I was still impressed with his chops after all of these years. Guy can still shred.

Anyways... I find it quite ironic that some of the very posters in this thread taking shots at Zakk were taking me to task for being irritated at having to wade through so many lame gear reviews on YouTube to get to the useful/good ones. So on the one hand, I shouldn't dare criticize an anonymous basement player for his style of "review"... but the lowly, unaccomplished, unknown, irrelevant Zakk Wylde is fair game? That's good stuff!

I love Zakk, if I don't watch it I might join a pretend biker gang pretty soon..lol

"Fat, Drunk and Stupid is no way to go through life."

Apparently, money is to that adage as a non-headshot is to zombies.

Never mind Zakk, here's some real musicians gear you can be proud of.

Where else can you get a Chinese guitar with a real American flag embossed.

And for just 6 easy payments of $199.99 you can learn to play "Mustang Sally" and other timeless Classics just like them.

Keith Urban is a very tasteful, passionate player, songwriter, and vocalist. I dig his schtick and I would GLADLY trade whatever the @#$% it is that I'm doing here to walk in his shoes.

From the partial pics, those guitars look like they're made by Minarik. They're fugly.

Yep the guitars are dog shit ugly, same for the colors. NO SALE!!!
