So I thought I would post this. I just saw Zakk at the Iridium. I go there a lot and really didn't know what to expect. He played with Lou Pallo, Nicki Parrott (who is amazing), Anton Fig, and forgive me for forgetting the awesome piano player. Zakk came out with an acoustic and some pedals. No Les Paul...go figure. He sat down and played covers. He had the same tone he always does and played as usual, but on an acoustic with a humbucker. I am not quite sure why he didn't bring the Les Paul. I have to say, he sound amazing. He shredded his ass off and sang that a beast. Somehow, his tone was pretty great too.

It was easily one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Lou might as well as gone and had a drink, because you couldn't hear him (but it is always like that with Lou when a guest comes up   and Zakk was loud.) Anton was awesome as always. Nicki put down the stand up and strapped on an electric 4 string and rocked out. I am not sure why but the show seemed to end about 30 min early and the second show was cancelled. I would go see it again, and I ran into a friend there that I think did just that.

If you get a chance to see it, and don't mind being surrounded by a bunch of people in fake biker vests, I definitely recommend it.

Here is a really bad quality video of the night that I found on youtube. The sound sucks on this. The sound was awesome there. He sounded amazing and the band's tone was ridiculous and balanced. This video is very thin and you don't hear any bass, drums or piano. Zakk's guitar sounds thin as well and so do his vocals here. At least you get an idea. They were filming for a dvd so they weren't letting any one take video or audio...I guess someone did.

When he's on his game nobody can touch him, one of my all-time favorites.

To this day i'm still blown away by the No More Tears disc everytime i hear it.

I love the way he attacks that acoustic for the first two minutes. Then again at 3:00. And again at ... etc...

It was way better live. Think more Pride and Glory than BLS. He did covers by the likes of the Allman Brothers, Hendrix, Mountain...
