zoom q3hd at band practice

just tried recording a song at practice on the new zoom recorder i traded a rt member for. this thing is pretty cool. it sound very tame on the vid, but its so loud in the room! anywho, its too loud to actually hear the singer, but i'm playing my les paul thru the mesa markIII, and ryan my other guitarist is playing a les paul thru a marshall jcm800. now that i have something that can handle the db's, ill make a couple amp clips of my markIII and jmp.

 
Sounds good! Yeah....the Zoom Q3's are awesome recording really loud overall band mixes.
We used to try to mic out the cabs....drums...mixing boards....yadda yadda....
the zoom kills all those old recordings. :yes:

Gets addicting making clips though... :lol: :LOL:

awesome. looking forward to bringing some gear home to make clips of during the week. my mesa or marshall only get played like once a week, and until i get my new cab finished, only one at a time.. i ended up with the lowest mic setting, and the low cut switch on. how did you record with it?

Just put it on Auto. The camera sets itself off a high....and balances the rest from there.

thanks, im gonna use it for clips and see if i can learn to edit it and such...
 
Steve that sounds Awesome! Your style is the direction I'm trying to head in since Hollowmass. Here is one we were working on but when I use my zoom the video is blurry as Fuck and its set to HD so I'm confused!

holy shit man, how have ya been? i havent seen you in a coons age! good to see youre playin. whats the name of your band? i quit diavolo about two years ago and got back to my roots. my drummers a long time friend as well as my other guys, but herbs the one i would get together on the weekends with and play ac/dc as loud as we could. i could see it was a little blurry in your vid, maybe it was just the lighting.. sounded great tho.

They do great recording audio. That's how I record rehearsals too. Low/bass cut on. Video sucks unless its a really bright room. Kinda wish I had just bought an audio recorder & saved a hundred bucks.

it'll be nice to bring a head home and make clips here tho, for speakers, pups, overdrives etc...
