Zuul clones available FYI

FYI the chip 4301 is obsolete now and becoming scare, this version will be rare soon and a redesign necessary for new 4305 chip. Might matter later on if 4305 sounds worse.

What sucks from a hobbyist standpoint is that it looks like the 4305 isn't available in a DIP format, just surface mount

well it is almost a direct clone of fortins interpretation, though you are not wrong the lineage is older.

Is this the same chip in the Airis Hades? He recently mentioned that he has to discontinue it because the chip is no longer available.
Do all these noise gates run on the same thing?
My favourite noise gate so far was the one on my JVM 410HJS when I had it.

Yep, same one in the kerry king 800 and copied for the zuul

I think you're right, but they will swear black and blue everything is an original design from genius dear leader...

Dont know but I would think so as Keeley designed it and uses the 4301 in his comp/limiter.

Why the huge enclosure?

For the 4 jacks. Two for input and out and two for use in the loop.
