zvex fat fuzz factory problem

Hello guys, I recently got the fat fuzz factory effect pedal from zvex. The pedal works fine and I can get the fuzz without any problem. However when I turn the fuzz pedal off, I can't get any sound from my amp. Therefore I cannot use the fuzz pedal with other analog pedals (when the zvex is off). Shortly, the pedal works when it is on but ignores any other pedal or amp when it's off. How can I fix it? Am I doing something wrong or do I need to return the item.

If what I understand from you description is just that no signal passes when it's off then it must be simple. It's a true bypass pedal so either the switch is fucked internally or a wire has come adrift. There's can't be anything wrong with the "effecty bit". Based on the fact the signal too and from the switch forwards the signal to and from the effect I'm guessing either duff stomp switch, one of the short wires across the switch between poles, or there's a short relating to when the switch it on.
