My brother has a previously modded Marshall JMP50 Lead & Bass - it's a great sounding amp! The mods have all been reversed though the chassis has been drilled and the head box has a hole in the side where someone had installed a fan. Since the chassis already had a hole drilled we added a few more to accommodate the addition of an effects loop. I ordered an Iron Sounds buffered effects loop kit - lots of positive comments about this circuit on the net. I assembled the kit last week and installed it yesterday. It sounds great! It has a true bypass switch and a pad switch. We tested it with an Ensoniq DP-4 multi-effects unit, a Boss VF-1 multi-effects unit, and an MXR Phase 45 pedal and it worked wonderfully with all of them. Bypassed or in the circuit the amp sounds the same. My brother is very happy to have the effects loop in the amp - he uses this amp daily. He's wanted to have the ability to add reverb, delay, etc. The loop makes this possible and has no negative impact on the amps tone. I'm very impressed with the quality of the kit and its performance!

Metro amps also has a nice fx loop kit too.

Pete

Just finished checking out the Metro loop kit - looks like a nice kit and perhaps a better loop circuit than the Iron Sounds. I think I'll order this kit the next time I add a loop to an amp. I'll very likely be building a kit amp os some kind for my brother sometime this year and he'll definitely want an effects loop installed. Thanks for posting this! :)

The Iron Sounds is a great loop!

I have modded many amps with those.

I'm amazed at how transparent it is! I'll definitely be using this kit again. :)
