Let me just say that that clip of the Fortin modded VM REALLY got my attention the first time I heard it. It has some sort of metallic grind that just sounds super cool. Actually, I'd say just about all of the best sounding clips I've heard have Fortin in the description. However it was recorded, I like it.

That thing sounds perfect for bashing out some Ride The Lightning tunes.

well jsut read the title of the video and modded by fortin.. god he is freaking awesome.. but that amp jerry did was fucking badass.. well i dont know if i want to save and get a marshall and get it modded or jsut get my 6505 modded.. if i can get it to sound like one of these then im down...

both the VM and pumpkin sound great, but killertone's riffs make the pumpkin stand head and shoulders above the rest. the slow chugga-chugga stuff from the VM clip doesnt really showcase what the amp will do when you start shuffle picking the strings. a lot of amps sound awesome when just nailing chunk chords, but the tightness really shows when you start speed picking/shuffling.

I think its the recording...

personally i don't think it has anything to do with anything else than than that amp sounds like it does.

the other clip you posted sounds bad ass too.

My friend Dave Linsk of Overkill runs two of these custom Fortins, with a bunch of personal tweaks. We run the amps regularly at the studio to dial in the rest of our gear and work out recording sounds. Mike is a super-great guy and has done a stellar job on these amps. Killertone is not BS'ing you. These amps are tight, crushing and brutal, absolutely top-notch professional gear, with an unmistakeable marshallesque flavor and roar. They run right alongside our modded Langner Marshalls, but with, dare I say, even MORE clarity and tightness. As far as I'm concerned, our old Langners and these Fortins are the only game in town for serious thrash metal. True greatness.

You'll hear the Fortins on the new Overkill coming out soon. They just finished up in the studio. The mixes are coming out pretty sweet.

Here's another nice Fortin clip to give you an idea. The amps sound much more brutal than this in person and are SICK loud, with plenty of gut-wrenching punch that the cameras on these sound clips can't translate. I really wanna see Gary Holt switch to Fortin amps and get the marshall sound going again! Been a long time since Exodus hung up the Langners for safekeeping. The Peavey XXX's and now the Engl Savages just don't have the same mids his Langners had. Listen to this clip. I'd love to hear Gary and Lee live, playing Scar Spangled Banner on these amps:

Right on. I opened for Exodus last year and his tech was freaking out about my guitar tone. He thought it was killer. Gary was playing rock star that day and didn't hang out until he played and then split directly after. I was hoping to get him to play on it and check it out.

Are these amps modded or rebuilds? I remember back aways that they were rebuilt. If thats the case theres not much Marshall left in them. Thye sound great but I am not sure if they are modded marshals. I remember Fortin gutted the VM.
