My friend Dave Linsk of Overkill runs two of these custom Fortins, with a bunch of personal tweaks. We run the amps regularly at the studio to dial in the rest of our gear and work out recording sounds. Mike is a super-great guy and has done a stellar job on these amps. Killertone is not BS'ing you. These amps are tight, crushing and brutal, absolutely top-notch professional gear, with an unmistakeable marshallesque flavor and roar. They run right alongside our modded Langner Marshalls, but with, dare I say, even MORE clarity and tightness. As far as I'm concerned, our old Langners and these Fortins are the only game in town for serious thrash metal. True greatness.
You'll hear the Fortins on the new Overkill coming out soon. They just finished up in the studio. The mixes are coming out pretty sweet.
Here's another nice Fortin clip to give you an idea. The amps sound much more brutal than this in person and are SICK loud, with plenty of gut-wrenching punch that the cameras on these sound clips can't translate. I really wanna see Gary Holt switch to Fortin amps and get the marshall sound going again! Been a long time since Exodus hung up the Langners for safekeeping. The Peavey XXX's and now the Engl Savages just don't have the same mids his Langners had. Listen to this clip. I'd love to hear Gary and Lee live, playing Scar Spangled Banner on these amps:
