Anyone heard of, used our own a Hook amp?
I came across a YouTube review last night of the Hook Wizard amp that was pretty badass. Sounded pretty good but the features were impressive:
-EL34 based power
-Internal reactive load
-Has IR’s built in or load your own
-*** Coolest feature. Has 32 presets and motor knobs so that each knob (bass, mid, presence, etc...) snap into place when you choose a preset.

Euro $$$$ 2,850.00 The dollar is worth about $.90 so this amp is over $3,000.00 plus shipping from Europe.

Fun stuff with the moving knobs and the demoes sound good/great.

There is a note at the bottom that the price includes a 21% vat tax. Am I correct in thinking that buying from the US means we would not have to pay the 21%?

The motorized pots aren't anything new.... that said, it looks cool. Wonder how it really sounds...

Who else is doing motorized pots. Would be cool with midi control.

There were a few company doing it. I think the guy who modded the Slash amp made some with motorized pots.

I had conversations with Cameron many years ago about the motorized pot too.

Yep, that was a collaboration with Tim Caswell I believe. Caswell also sold a ground-up build of the SIR #39 that also had the motorized controls. It was like 4K and this was going on 15 yrs ago.

I had Masotti Monster. It is monster by the weight and dimensions but also with its sound. Massive SLO'ish ovedrive with ton of balls, dynamic and great overtones.

You haven't kept it ? why ? Seems like the perfect amp ! I have a X99 preamp but I always wished Mike Soldano made a real SLO with motorized pots... Sometimes I'm thinking about taking the motorized part of the X99 and fitting into my SLO. That would be a massive undertaking though....
