Which high-end high-gain amp would you choose?

Rammstein used early Rev C Rectos I think? Find a Rev G Triple and send it to Mike B at Mesa for the Rev C mod.
Done.

How about try a different boost pedal? A tubescreamer is cool, but there are others that are much more aggressive. The VFE Dragon is killer. The PLX Bion Boost is my favorite and sounds killer with every amp I played it with.

Old two-channel rev G Dual Recto will do what you need. It will be totally different feel and tone from your Super Lead.

OP:

Funny you should ask this, because I just watched a really good mini amp shootout yesterday. I recommend giving this a full viewing.

It's from 2017 by James Lugo, who did a MASSIVE amp shootout many years ago here for Rig-Talk and other forums.

This one, though, from 2017, involves a Plexi/Superlead, some Marshalls, Rectifier, a Cameron Ocean Marshall and other amps.

For stark contrast, you may like the Mesa Mark, but for a fuller complement, you may go with something that has low mids to fill out the high mids of the Super Lead.

Why's it have to be "high-end"? I can think of several that cover slot of ground, and sound fabulous doing it, at a fraction of the price of the amps you list. A JSX comes to mind.. An EVH. A Triple XXX. A Laney VH100R.

Because if it's not $4000+ it's a shitty wannabe amp. Duh. Everyone knows that.

Well, you already have a Super Lead. Buy a 68 Pedals "King of Clone" off of ebay for $105.00 and try it with the Super Lead. Can't imagine needing anything more than that. If you want a modern/tighter distortion with less mid presence, get a Crowther Double Hot Cake as well.

This site is touchy over expensive amps lately for some reason. I think it's pretty obvious anyone can get killer tones with a 6505 or a DSL with a Mexican Fender off the rack of Guitar Center. But it's fun to try out the more exotic stuff too, and that stuff generally happens to cost more.

I agree that depending on your needs, your superlead boosted with the right pedal can cover a lot of ground and may be a good place to start. Some of my recommendations for that would be the Nunez Tetrafet Drive or a vintage pq rack unit like a TC Electronic 1140 or Furman PQ3. Those units are very versatile and can shape your amp to get lots of different sounds that the amp could never get by itself. The rack pq’s have sent almost any pedal I owned packing (except for a select few) and I’ve owned over 120 of them over the years

The Tetrafet Drive I just got though is also pretty killer. This clip I think shows well what it can do and got me interested in it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Oi4mjBV-tWA

I think the amps worth looking into have already been covered pretty well if you go that route

I would get a Silver Jubilee, and hit with a pedal. That, or some kick-ass pedals for your Super Lead. Spending $3K+ on a high-gain amp is...

I'm going to echo the recommendations for a Mesa Dual Rectifier. It's an iconic classic—can do Soldano tone on channel 2 orange mode, or super aggressive on modern mode.

Master volume works well but it necessitates engaging the kind of tone-sucking loop. Works well with all kinds of boosts. They're pretty reliable.

I'd pass on all your short list amps (barring the Wizard MTL maybe) for what you're after.

I had an early MESA Dual Rec, and man did that baby sing! I liked it more than my SLO. The lead tones were just incredible. Liquid!

Dude for something kind of Rammstein ish i'd go recto OR try a PRS MT15. Honestly the MT15 is pretty awesome for a small amp with balls with a different flavor going on from the modded marshalls and it can do well without a boost and save you a few bucks so you can save up for a Wizard ;)

Some good suggestions in here for inexpensive high gain amps. If you don’t want to spend $$$ on Wizard or Diezel or ... then i‘d seriously consider a 5150 or a Dual Rectifier variant. a VH4 or Mark V are do-it-all amps but you’re looking for a specialist (i think).

Pretty much what I came here to say, grab a 5150. Perfect compliment to the SL and both amplifiers have been on countless records. If you can’t cover the ground with a super lead or 5150 in your stable, it can’t be played on guitar.

Every amp with great crunch can be boosted and give You crushing metal tones especially Marshalls. Sadly it didnt work in oposite way. Amps like 6505, recto or PRS MT has terrible crunch sound.
Too much talking about heads and no talk about cabs ? Your Wizard or VH4 will sound like poop thru shitty cab and speakers.
I will look at Bogner Uber, Soldano HotRod or VHT Ultralead. 6505/XXX/DSL are always save bets on cheap.

Having only played the MTL and Mark V on the list it'll be the MTL by a mile between those two.

I havent played a Mark V but I just told a friend that the Mark IV with this boost a friend sent me is the best metal tone I've ever had. I dont know why I waited so long to get a Mesa Mark but I typically favor Marshall tones. So in my mind a good Marshall type amp which you already have and some sort of Mesa/5150/etc type amp and you are all set. I just sold a 5150 a few weeks ago but I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed it.
