Okay, with most amps out there you can say "Well ________ amp is based of {insert Marshall, Fender, etc). What is the Herbert based off? Even loosely because it seems hard to find anything that comes close. Anyone?

After peering into both of my Herberts (04' and 09' respectively) there is a noticeable (even to the untrained eye) difference in attention to detail. I must say the newer Herbert looks very sloppy on most of the solder joints in the preamp section with some literally having solder bleeding over...

Circuit wise of course. I know the tube fault LEDs and external bias points were added but I have a old Herbert and a almost brand new one. Are there any differences other than the aforementioned between the two? Revisions etc.?

Herbert? VH4? Einstein? Schmidt? What is the significance? Peter? Olaf? I have wondered this for awhile but I figured now that I am a Diezel user I would ask.

When switching from say KT88s to 6L6s do I need to turn the bias down before I put the 6L6s in? Logic would dictate yes but I am unsure. I have Penta Labs KT88s in one Herbert and am putting those in my other that has Ruby 6L6s in it. Thanks in advance Olaf!

My Herbert is currently loaded with Penta Labs KT88s. It seems that after awhile of good loud play one of the tubes' plates (anode?) is glowing. It is not red-plating by any means but is definitely starting to glow whereas the rest do not. Right now it is reading 30ma. Is this too low? What...
