    XLR direct

Anyone here regularly using their XLR direct out on their Egnater. I'm experimenting with my Renegade and keep being impressed with that XLR direct tone. It competes very respectably with a mic'd tone. I know direct tone is usually panned by ...pretty much everyone. But I'm thinking of just...

Question re: Density on a Renegade.

Bruce, Is there a "zero" point for the density control on the Renegade. Meaning, is there a position for the knob that mimics what the amp would sound like if there were no such control on the amp? Is the control adding "density" or is it subtracting it from the amp sound? Knowing this might...

Who here is gigging regularly/prof. with your Egnater?

Just curious how many of you are putting your amps on stages and rehearsals regularly (compared to those who keep them almost entirely in their practice rooms.) Nothing wrong with the practice room scenario, but arguably an amp doesn't have to be terribly durable to survive that scenario... I'm...

Anyone using a Sonic Stomp w/Their Egnater?

I've got a Renegade and am considering a BBE Sonic Stomp. Any users here?

    Chinese and UK V-30's

Does anyone with actual experience notice a sonic difference with the V-30 between these points of origin? There seems to be a fairly heavy value placed on the UK version. I'm just wondering if this just falls into the same old "made in China" bias that exists with or without evidence to support...

Renegade: Main 2 vol boost. What's the secret??

As much as I love the concept of the Main 2 volume boost on my Renegade, I rarely use it because it's so hard to dial in just a smidge of volume boost without completely overpowering Main 1. Anyone have a secret on how to set the amp so that the incremental volume change is less radical?? thx

    E34L's

Anyone here like E34L's in their Renegade?

    I can't help it...

I just have to post again how much I love my Renegade. Played it a lot yesterday with the clean gain cranked and I got a great breakup with my Wolfgang when I wanted it, clean when I backed off the attack. Will probably retube it pretty soon (owned it 2 years now with the original tubes). I...

    Renegade Chrome handle mount covers...

Is there a secret to keep these from popping off? It doesn't affect the function of the amp at all but it would be nice if they stayed on. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in each and putting one of the mounting screws through each. Suggestions?

Did I say I love my Renegade?

If I didn't, let me do it now. I've had it a year and a half and it just gets better and better. Took it cross country to a friend's house in Omaha this last weekend and played with his Country band at a party. I stood in with a couple of Chesney songs and it sounded great. Then my friend...

    Removable Casters

I've had my Renegade 212 for about a year now but just used my casters for the first time last night. They work great. What a great idea, and they are rock solid too. Just like they were bolted to the bottom. (I got some compliments on my tone at practice too...) ;)

    OCD w/Renegade

Anyone here use a Fulltone OCD pedal with their Renegade? How does it sound? I've heard that the OCD sounds different with different amps.

    A new slogan for Egnater

As I've been playing my Renegade live over the past few months, I always notice how great it sounds in the mix. It sounds the way I want it to. It sounds the way I want to sound. It sounds like me. That's when I realized that Egnater might hit a marketing chord with people with a new slogan...

    Renegade EQ Question

On my other amps the passive eq's need to be cranked to 100% to basically defeat the eq. Lowering any eq setting from there effectively cuts frequencies from the natural output of the amp. Is this how the Renegade was designed too? Is that the nature of all passive eq's? thanks

    Bruce: What's the verdict?

I was wondering what conclusions you've come to regarding the frazzled Renegade reverb? Is there a repair for the problem? Or is it just an issue where we need to keep the channel volume low and that's it? How low does the channel volume need to be, as a rule, to avoid this issue? If you've...

    First Time: Renegade 212 Live

Thought I'd report that I used my new Renegade 212 live for the first time last weekend and am very, very pleased with the results. I used the XLR direct out to the PA and it sounded great. The tones I was getting, especially from the clean channel driven hard with the gain, were stellar...

Bruce: An Audio Clip of my Frazzled Reverb FYI

This is an intermittent problem so I was going to post a clip with featuring the reverb sounding good, then bad. But the file size was too large so this is just the reverb sounding bad. When it's good it sounds great. When it's bad, it sounds like this. I've turned the reverb on and off in...

    Thank You Egnater Customer Service!

 Thought I'd post a positive response to customer service. I sent an E-mail to Nate as per Bruce's recommendation. Within a couple of days I heard from him and 1 week later I have been sent a brand new fan replacement kit for my Renegade 212 which is installed and is quieter than the...
