Peter's saying it like it is - it's not the gear... It's the magic.

And any guitar player is capable of producing great magic on any of Peter Diezels amps whether old or brand new.
Stop obsessing and get playing...

Yes...

The Magic comes form the player and the tone comes from the gear...

It doesn't really matter about the gear as long as you have the Magic....

But at the same time the gear gets you closer to the Magic that takes you to the higher place.....

Untill one finds their own Magic to express a higher realm of there own......

I've said it MANY a time on Rig-Talk... Some of my fave players have done SO much, on SO little. And here we are, in complete capability to own one of the best amps in the world. Believe me, it'll get any of us "there", if we just bear down and play the shit out of it and not worry about everything else around us.

That said, I envision a room of all top Diezel amps:
Herbert
VH4
Hagen
D-Moll or an older Einstein

...and a couple of 4x12s and may a 2x12 for good measure

But that's kinda like a lot of guys' dream about the Playboy mansion, no? Only I dream of gear

It´s not the schematic of a unit that translates tone to our ears.
We just remember good times with great music.

Sounds like a poet

Today I will have a Blueface on my workbench which is very
similar to AJ´s amp. It´s just missing the extra tube for the
clean channel.

You want a review ?

It´s just in my workshop for service and will leave to USA.

I know my schematics :D

As I know the 98 Blueface is missing a bit high end
and bottom comparing to the new models.

The preamp schematic has less lower mids and treble.
There is a lot of upper midrange attack.
The power amp is close to the new models missing
some low end. The complete amp is some kind of
no forgiving on the single notes.

Does this help ?

Should be just right for Adam then....

When and how many stages/progressions have happened to the VH4? we know of 2008 to be the latest update/tweak (loved my '08), but is a 2007 vh4 same as 1998 vh4? or was there another update/tweak in early 2000+ , and is 1998 same as 1994-5 vh4? etc.

If there was a update/tweak in the early 2000's that sort of averages that an update occurs every 5 years, so since its been 5+ years since the last update/tweak....is there an update/tweak you have in mind in the near future for the VH4 as i am really looking to buy a brand new VH4 and find myself waiting for the next updated/tweaked/stage vh4.

It's not just the wood, but the lacquer on my Silverbursts protects the glisse of pixie dust. I run everything in phase simultaneously to be out of phase and then record in phase to have the mics out of phase." Adam Jones

There are no big updates till 2007. Then we added more bottom on the power amp
and more treble on the preamp. That´s it. There is no really big difference.

And everything is kept in the freezer so those circuits are always super-fresh and "it's not the player, it's the instrument"! :D

I want to find my own tone, then forget how I attained it and then spend years chasing my OWN tone.

But seriously, the Blueface VH4 is such a drool-worthy amp!!!

I contacted the seller on the blue face and even placed a bid.
Peter was kind enough to offer to check the amp out and ship it to me but at the end of the day I decided to get the new D-moll.
Should be here next week
I figure the new amps have all the years of experience he has going into them.
I'd love to own a blue face but only if I already had every Diezel made first.

OH YEA? Well papa got stacks of them that would make us all cry ourselves to sleep like little girls!!! :D
