Herbert MK2 released

Dear guys, dear customers.

Today I built the first Mk2 Herbert. Of course You want to know
what´s different or not different.

First let me say that I´m very happy about the performance I could
increase concerncing the small complaints I heard from a few customers.
I´m searching always for better design and development and the MK2
is the last step in the name of Herbert.

We have new transformers mounted in the old way standing on
the metal housing, no more lay down design. These transformers
have a bigger iron core and have more headroom while producing
less heat. I designed 12 different prototypes of the output transformer
to be sure that they sound very, very close to the original ones.
The bad news: You have to carry two more pounds ;)

We had customers hammering with 30k pickups into the clean channel
and were complaining about distortion. On the MK2 we decreased the sensivity
of the input stage to avoid early distortion using high gain PU´s. This
don´t effects the distortion channels.

Now I´m pretty sure that the discussion will start which version sounds better.
But believe me, every amp is feed by Your own tone.

This? Now? When I'm about to order a Schmidt? ;)
As I was walking home tonight, I thought about what could be the next new product/upgrade announcement, then I log on to Rig-Talk only to see this thread!

By the way, all upgrades are of interest, Peter! :)

Please no concerns, the Schmidt transformers are made
by the same German company.

Freu mich schon, mehr zu erfahren!

(Just a misunderstanding! I'm about to buy the Schmidt and a Herbert Mk2 only rekindles my G.A.S. for it. Looking forward to learning more about it.)

Man I love my Herbert. I can't imagine it could sound any better than the way it is now.
I'm happy to see Peter continually trying to make a better product though..
This makes me so happy to be a Diezel owner. I will be one for life....

The only thing I would like to be able to do is change the +/- via midi on the 2 channel..

Thanks Peter for building such great amps.

Bloody Hell!
and I just bought mine not more than 5 months ago.
Oh well......progress must continue.

any changes to anything ch. 2 or 3?

any other gain or tone changes other than ch.1?

just how different is it going to be?

Is there a mod for the current Herbert 2 (+)(-) switched via midi?

That's the only thing I could ever ask for.

Herr Diezel, Ich liebe Ihre Amps!!!

I think it's safe to say, Herr Peter...Papa Diezel...UberAmpDaddyo - we'd ALL love to know exactly WHAT changes have been made in the MK2 versus the original. Aside from transformer position - what are the details? Have the channel circuits been revised? Any new, additional or removed components in the circuit paths of the channels?

If it's as simple as saying you've cleaned up the 1st channel only, tell us. We'll move along quietly. But if there have been other, more substantial changes throughout the entire amp's circuit which transfer to noticeable tonal changes, gain structure, etc. please do tell.

Respectfully,
Mojo (aka, V.)

There are no changes in the circuit except the clean
channel which sounds very close to the MK1.

Please no concerns about Your MK1

No,
only that if you have one, you also want to have all the other diezel amps..... :)
But that seems to be a concern for all of your amps.

Cheers :D
