Messing around with some dynamics plugins... how does this sound? Close?

Sound real nice Vlad, nice and chewy on the lower notes...like to hear a little more sizzle on the top though, would make a nice old VH tone as well. ;)
I'm guilty of always making clips too dark too. :D

Sounds great, but i think it would be better if you put the reverb/delay on the right side.

I can mix in a bit of the on-axis mic. That would add grit. I was going by memory as far as the recording goes.

Don't mean to be a complainer! :D

BTW...the BB Preamp and the Varidrive are great pedals together or by themselves for driving a clean amp....I'm a happy boy.
If I put the BB after the Varidrive it's really chewy...though I'm using it before the Varidrive right now...it's a brilliant boost for it. ;)

I didn't take it as complaining at all... :D
You got some updated clips?

BTW, that was straight into the SL... :D

That sounded real badass! What did you use to make that? It seemed a bit too left heavy though...and by a bit, I mean 90% of the sound was on the left side.

Thanks dude....
Cubase SX 3.0
Waves SSL Channel plugin
Waves R-Verb and Mod Delay

Really? It's that much left? Well.. another trick I used to make it thin and kinda far away was set it out of phase. Which may explain that...

Just played it here.. seems like it's ok... not balanced 50-50, but it's not all one speaker either.. .weird that you get that.

Well, not 90%. More like 70%, but enough to annoy me. Sounded great, though! I'm using headphones, btw.

I can believe that... :D
Maybe it's more accentuated in the headphones? Or maybe my little computer monitors suck ass? Well they doo.. :D

It most defintely is more accentuated with headphones. I wish I had a good pair of monitors to monitor this stuff through. I'm using these headphones for reference:
