Well Sheder loves him some Splawn. Thats ok bt think he gets a bit too defensive sometimes with those who dont share his tastes.

I had 2 Splawn modded 1959's and hated them. Maybe he has tweaked his Splawn amps to be better, but my amps sounded great at low volume but anytime they were at band volume they were terrible. I'm not bashing them, that what was just how it was. :)

Put it this way, I was looking at getting a new QR with the new clean channel. I heard the JVM and my money is going to Marshall. So in a way at least with one customer its is affecting Splawn. Hate it though cause I think so much of Scott but I'll put my money where I think the amps sounds more of what Im after. Marshall has made an amp that IMHO is more versatile and sounds better than the Splawn line of amps.

I was merely making a point...anytime there's a marshall type of amp comming out, it's the "death knell for splawn"

I wonder how many people in this thread would have boners for the new marshall if mark cameron actually had his amp ready to go..

Well if Marshall was going to give us crap like the JCM900 and TSL i don't blame guys like Splawn for making a better version of a Marshall.

Thank God Marshall realized they can't just live off their name and reissues. Well maybe they could have but i wasn't going to buy any current Marshall until now and I'm glad i didn't buy one of the knock off's.

I guess he saying its impossible from clips to tell if you might like an amp you never played in person.

While I agree and for the most part I dont buy somthing until I play it but since the DSL's which Ive played and liked and if Marshall is going further and Camerons name was mentioned in RD, given the clips, and the word from plyers I respect. Top it off with a great deal. Im willing to chance it.

Not sure but Im sure there would be many factors in what would make people choose one or the other. I will tell you this, Rufus Leaking was selling one of his Camerons to buy a JVM.

Im confused considering this is first new line of Marshalls since the JCM 2000 series. :?

I was never in the market for a Cameron because there's too many ???????? that i would have. I'm just sticking with what my heros used, Boogie and Marshall and i don't see any reason, anymore, to go with someone else.

FWIW, JB is a great guy and has been very very nice to me and i love his clips, but hearing him play a WASP cover wasn't nearly enough for me to do backflips over a Cameron.
