Recorded quick clip of the EVH 5150 in WDW config with a couple of pedal pedals, trying to cover wider range of tone, just room sound. IMHO Amp is capable much more than just metal tones, all three channels are totally workable. The only amp Im eyeballing now is Mesa Mark IV :)

thanks !

I see you are using the big Boss pedals, but how is the WDW set up?

Amazing tone and playing as always
Time for me to get off the forums and start practicing :D
But yeah, very versatile amp.
Nice Flesh For Fantasy riffing - I'm going to look up that tab. You've got a great Zakk tone too.

Do you mean the WDW rig or if the Boss pedals "work" with it ?
I just meant what is the whole setup to get the WDW?

I assume the Boss pedals work fine with that sort of setup.

Setup goes like this: Guitar-OD808-EVH Input (Engl Pro 2x12 V30 is the dry cab). Bray LO-1 taps the speaker signal, sends to stereo parallel mixer (mixer has 3 stereo loops + dry signal, one is DD500, two MD500, three Line 6 Helix Rack). From mixer it goes to Palmer Macht 402 stereo power amp and then to two wet cabs (1x12 G12M 65). Effect are 100% wet and parallel. I mix in some dry via the mixer to the wet cabs, approx 25-30%. Thats basically it :)

LOVE W/D/W!!! Been doing that for 20+ years, and it's awesome!! Keep Rocking

Thanks! Compared to the guys here, I suck :)

Killer clip ACEV... you really make the EVH 50 watter shine...:2thumbsup:

The cleans sounded absolutely fantastic, your Zakk tones was spot on as well...

Tells about the flamed sunburst guitar that you lead off with, I haven't seen that one before in your vids?

I have a 50W EVH and need to use it with a Two Notes Torpedo or it's just a way too loud with my 2 x 1*12. I can't even begin to imagine how loud that 3 speaker WDW setup must be. How do you deal with it? Headphones on listening to the mix?

I love playing Gojira on mine.

The guitar is JET JS-600, its a new local EU based brand (guitar are made in China), very affordable, but still using specs from guitars priced much higher. Its like Harley Benton with more feel/taste and more boutique inspired and feels and looks like expensive instrument. I have two, they both play and sound on par with Mexico Fenders and I paid 199 for one and 399 for the second. Totally craps on Squiers at the same price levels, you get a roasted maple neck, either ebony or roasted maple fret board, good fretwork, locking tuners etc. Change the pickups and you are good to go.

Luckily I live in a house, so I can play at an acceptable level for a tube amp. Amps starts to sound more beastly once you hit 3 on volume (out of 10). Usually I play it on 1 or 2 on volume taper.

Adding wet cabs does not seem that much louder, its just wider and fuller and the fx sound clearer.

The EVH is good that way. You don't need much volume to get good distortion out of it.
